Color coding for modern list Calendar views
Right now, it is not possible to color code the calendar view for modern lists based on choice fields or using JSON formatting. This would be a useful feature for calendars with many items. This would be something that would bring back functionality that classic Calendars were able to do.

Yes, especially if you like us have different categories for your meetings. Some are research seminars, other seminars, different kinds of meetings, etc.
Color coding would be really great, especially for calendars views that are added to lists created from the "content scheduler" template. Multiple types of content are published, and color coding would make it far easier for my users to tell what's what, especially when content is published by separate teams, but tracked in one place. Products with similar uses (Wrike, Google calendars) already do this, so it's difficult to get my users to consolidate to using one platform when things like this are missing.
Let me add my comment as well. The new Calendar View is nice - would be even better with the ability to configure it with filters and JSON like other columns formatting. That would get us in a better place. Allow us to use that view on a Modern Page - that would be even better. And we would love to have overlays back or some way to rollup the calendars - especially across a hub.
In addition to being able to use formatting on the modern calendar view in a list, being able to filter the view is also essential. The list where I am using the calendar view has an approval process. I only want approved items to show in the calendar view.

I was just looking for this. It would be SOOO useful. With all the great conditional formatting available for lists, it would be great to use this with Calendar events to highlight different types of events.
