Improve versioning with tags
Make it simple to find specific versions of a document by adding tags to versions. Great ways to add tags:
* In O365 Apps in the titlebar, where the document name is, put a button
Tag this Version, then a user can enter a comment like
Final version for board meeting
* In Outlook when sending an E-Mail with a document attached as link, make a checkbox
Tag sent version, then automatically add the date and recipients of the mail as a tag.
Versioning is a great feature, but it stays behind its potential in the current implementation, because it is hard to add version metadata. The only way I know is to add a comment, which needs to check out the document and check it back in. This is cumbersome.
The tag feature described here is inspired by the way git tags work.
