Fully integrated overlay calendar from Exchange
Make the calendar webpart so it can fully overlay any number of calendars from Exchange, and also make them writable. For example have a room calendar in Exchange where non Exchange users can see the calendar and even make a reservation.

Thank you for the feedback. A fully integrated overlay calendar for Exchange is not in our plans right now

At least to view the calendars. Being able to overlay a resource calendar would be extremely useful.

I have to agree with everyone here that I'm shocked that I can't have an Outlook Resource Mailbox or shared calendar displayed on SharePoint online.

It seems crazy that we are forced to use Office 365 Groups in order to have shared calendars in SharePoint online. The O365 groups would not fit into our IT workflows. Why would this remain limited?

Why is it not possible to sync or link the calendar on my team site on SharePoint with my departments calendar on outlook? Why is this not integrated?

I'm assuming this is still an issue? This would be very handy

It makes zero sense to not offer this as a built-in feature. SharePoint Online and Exchange Online should be 100% integrated. Please make it a top priority!

Why even offer a Sharepoint calendar if it cannot take overlays from Exchange calendars?

We have fully MS-hosted 365 and SharePoint. It's a shame (and quite surprising) that we can't embed a 365 calendar into SharePoint.

This would also resolve long-standing issues of trying to overlay an Exchange calendar looking like it should work but producing an error (see https://community.office365.com/en-us/f/154/t/422985?ss-src=related).
