Show breadcrumb down to folder level in a library
The breadcrumb becomes fairly useless after you have arrived at Document Library level. Folders are still a very important way for users to organize documents. Once you start going into folders, there is no telling from the navigation controls where you are.
This could easily be fixed with an improved breadcrumb which shows the path down to the folder level.
Ideally this should even be an option that you can control from navigation settings, which currently allow zero control over the breadcrumb control.
This is something you should be able to manipulate through configuration without the need for custom code.

The modern document library experience has a much better breadcrumb UX for viewing the path down to the room.

I agree. "When going into List/Library settings there is no indication of which list you are working on. This is particularly problematic when making changes to permissions settings."
Please bring this feature! -

I heartily agree that the filepath should be shown when you move form master folder >subfolder level 1>subfolder level 2 etc., in the same way that File Explorer works. I highly desire this feature!

This is great, but can it also be added to views added to pages? If you add a doc library list view on a site home page, there's no breadcrumb. Especially problematic when in a folder

This is great, but could you take it one step further. When going into List/Library settings there is no indication of which list you are working on. This is particularly problematic when making changes to permissions settings.

Thank you very much :-)
Do you plan to bring this functionality to SharePoint On-Prem (2013 / 2016)? Will you implement this in one of the next CUs?! -

See title.
Here is an image of what I am referring to.
https://www.smashingmagazine.com/images/breadcrumbs-design-showcase/location_based_breadcrumb_example_sitepoint.jpgMy users hate finding the document they need, only to have no way to know where they are at in regards to which folders they went through to find the document.

For sure, the navigation with folder could be improved. -

If you are using a document library you can also turn on metadata navigation for the document library.

In SharePoint when you select Documents from the navigation menu and then consequently drill down into a newly-created folder it indicates "Documents -> FolderName" just about the widget. This allows you to then navigate back up the tree.
This isn't the case for the Documents widget that you might include in a view like on the Home page. There, if you drill down into a folder there are no navigational crumbs just above the widget. The link Documents appears but it's a link to the main Documents view rather than a different view of the widget. Short version: you can't drill into a folder from the Home page and then navigate back out of that folder without leaving that entire view.

You already can, either chose a different master page or get someone who knows what they are doing to change the breadcrumb properties in the masterpage.
