To provide features to restrict certain updates to modern pages created from a page template
Like classic SharePoint publishing pages, it would be good to include possibility to restrict updates to the section layout and web part properties of a modern page created from a page templates.
The need is to allow lock down of advanced editing features like add / remove sections, add / remove web parts, change placement of web parts on such modern pages and help mimic features of the classic publishing layout.
The business case driving this change is to bring uniformity to page content created from specific page templates.

Thank you for submitting this suggestion and voting on it. While we don’t have any plans at this time to add restrictions to page templates, this is something we’ll think about as we move forward and prioritize items for our future roadmap. Thank you.
