Allow Javascript customization and CSS branding/theming in the new Document Library Experience
Please allow javascript customization and css branding/theming in the new document library experience. A custom cross-site navigation is one example that is used by many customers. Also many customers want their intranet branded in a different color but office ui fabric blue.
JSLink is also used very often. And don't Forget about all the third-party forms solution provider like Nintex and others.
The new experience provides many advantages, but without customizations it is just not usable for larger intranets anymore.930 votesboom! it's done ·AdminSharePoint UserVoice Admin (SharePoint UserVoice Admin, Microsoft SharePoint) responded

A simple move/copy function between SharePoint Online Document libraries/folders/files
SharePoint Online Document Libraries are missing possibly the two most basic and fundamental functions in the online portal:
- A move/cut function, which is missing altogether, both for folders and files
- A copy function, which although technically exists, is really over complicated for a function which has existed in a much simpler form in every document repository technology since the mid-1980s...
Currently, in order to move a file or folder from within the online portal between different libraries or even different folders within the same library...well the function just doesn't exist. So users need to either sync the site just to…

Remove the limit (5,000 items) on SharePoint Document Library Syncing
The sync limit does not match OneDrive for Business, and adds complexity to the end user experience, administration and architecture of SharePoint. Please remove this sync limit.

We’ve recently rolled out support for syncing your Team sites (including O365 Groups) and shared OneDrive for Business folders with our OneDrive sync client. You can read more here: https://blogs.office.com/2017/01/24/onedrive-brings-new-file-collaboration-and-management-features-to-the-enterprise/ This includes no longer being limited to 5,000 files in a team site, on your PC or Mac. Thanks!

Bulk check-in/check-out
I need to be able to check-in or check-out multiple files. I'm not able to do this currently, when selecting multiple documents.

This feature is now available in Document Libraries. You can select multiple files and check them in/out.

Managed Navigation for new Document Library Experience
Currently the new document library experience does not support Managed Navigation. It would be great to have this as currently using the structured navigation seems buggy in the new experience. Specifically, it ignores the "hidden" attribute of structured navigation which can make for some large menus. We love the new experience and are hoping to train users up and roll it out however we need to get navigation right before we can do this.

Thank you for the feedback requesting support for classic publishing on modern pages in team sites. We have rolled out an update that will now correctly render your structured or managed navigation links on modern pages in classic team sites.

Enable the edit properties dialog when uploading documents with drag&drop
Upload via Drag&Drop is very easy but it is hard to set the metadata this way.
you need 3 clicks - no user does this much work to set metadata164 votesboom! it's done ·AdminSharePoint UserVoice Admin (SharePoint UserVoice Admin, Microsoft SharePoint) responded
Drag and dropping a file to a library with a required field will show the details pane and prompt the user to fill out the field.
Currently you can only use the details pane to update the metadata of one item at a time. We’re thinking about better capabilities to “bulk apply” metadata.

External Folder Sharing with without sign-in
Number 1 limitation is the fact that we cannot share folders without requiring users to sign-in. Adoption of this product will be limited without this feature.
159 votesboom! it's done ·AdminSharePoint UserVoice Admin (SharePoint UserVoice Admin, Microsoft SharePoint) responded
You can now get shareable links to folders that don’t require recipients to sign-in. If your tenant already allows you do this for files, then it works for folders, too.

Enable folder Download option
I contacted support and currently only way to download folder is using IE and open the folder inside Explorer.
Support for other browsers would be great. Alternative is to compress content of folder to ZIP and download that file, like it's available in Microsoft Account version of OneDrive.

Navigation

Just a brief update – this is a multi-phase fix. We have amended support in modern site header/pages for structured navigation, but if you are using managed navigation (via enabling publishing feature) support for this is still in the works. We are actively working on supporting this data provider and plan to have a fix soon.
We’re going to resolve this idea – to track the remaining publishing work see/subscribe to: https://sharepoint.uservoice.com/admin/forums/329214-sites-and-collaboration/suggestions/14749329-managed-navigation-for-new-document-library-experi

move documents between folders
Make it easier to move documents between folders. It is now possible to use drag & drop to move to sub folders but there are no easy way to move documents up in the structure.
87 votesboom! it's done ·AdminSharePoint UserVoice Admin (SharePoint UserVoice Admin, Microsoft SharePoint) responded
The modern library experience supports that. Right click→Move to, or drag items from the list into the breadcrumb navigation above the list view to quickly move them to a parent folder.

Show breadcrumb down to folder level in a library
The breadcrumb becomes fairly useless after you have arrived at Document Library level. Folders are still a very important way for users to organize documents. Once you start going into folders, there is no telling from the navigation controls where you are.
This could easily be fixed with an improved breadcrumb which shows the path down to the folder level.Ideally this should even be an option that you can control from navigation settings, which currently allow zero control over the breadcrumb control.
This is something you should be able to manipulate through configuration without the need for custom code.78 votesboom! it's done ·AdminSharePoint UserVoice Admin (SharePoint UserVoice Admin, Microsoft SharePoint) responded
The modern document library experience has a much better breadcrumb UX for viewing the path down to the room.

Enable SharePoint auditing for opening and viewing documents
Please make this feature available for SharePoint Online.
"For SharePoint Online, the Opening or downloading documents, viewing items in lists, or viewing item properties event is not available."
69 votesboom! it's done ·AdminSharePoint UserVoice Admin (SharePoint UserVoice Admin, Microsoft SharePoint) responded
For tenant admins and compliance officers, SharePoint audit of document activity is available in the compliance center, see https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/office365/securitycompliance/search-the-audit-log-in-security-and-compliance.
For site users, we have anonymized usage data available now. The modern site usage page (siteanalytics.aspx) shows both files with most total views and most unique users who viewed. We have also added a hover card experience in doc libraries, which will show total number of views for that document.
We are not planning any updates at this time to the classic site collection auditing features.
If there are additional specific features you’d like to see, please open a new userVoice request.

Allow users to complete required metadata when uploading documents.
Allow users to complete required metadata when uploading documents using the modern library view. Currently, users are not prompted to complete required fields or select a content type. As a result, the file is left in a checked-out state unless the user knows to edit the properties as a second step after uploading. This breaks sites that have structured metadata and/or specific content type usage requirements. SharePoint has always prompted for these required fields in the past, why remove that functionality?
51 votesboom! it's done ·AdminSharePoint UserVoice Admin (SharePoint UserVoice Admin, Microsoft SharePoint) responded
When you upload a file to a library with required metadata, the details pane opens and prompts you to enter those field values.
We’re investigating how we can bring this experience of Office Online as well – no timelines that we can commit to yet for that.

JSLink on displaying lists with new experience
Now we're trying the display list using new experience which released recently.
One important missing function is there is no way to do customization UI by using JavaScript. As you know the classic (current) experiense have JSLink. Drag and Drop Folders to SharePoint
SharePoint supports dragging files from your desktop into a SharePoint document library, but as soon as you want to drag in a folder containing multiple files/sub-folders this is not supported. You have to recreate the folders manually in document library and then drag in files separately, this consumes a lot of time.

This works in Chrome and Edge now.

Make an easier way to navigate up when you are in a sub-folder within a document library.
The 'Navigate Up' button on the library ribbon tab is too hidden for users and it also requires an extra click every time you need to go up. The breadcrumb also requires an extra click because you have to click the 'Browse' tab in the ribbon to see it every time.

Copy document to same library
When using the "Copy" function in a library, it seems the intention is to create a copy of the document in another library.
But when users want to just create a copy of a document in the same location with a different file name, SharePoint throws an error.
Why can the copy function not simply allow a new copy in the same library with a different filename?
40 votesboom! it's done ·AdminSharePoint UserVoice Admin (SharePoint UserVoice Admin, Microsoft SharePoint) responded
Thanks for the feedback! We’re going to call this one done as the specific action of copying a selected item to the same library is supported in the modern UX. If there are other related scenarios you have feedback on please open and drive support with new suggestions. Thanks!
