  1. Highlighted Content Web Part - Add AND OR for multiple filters

    Adding multiple filters defaults to OR. In other words adding multiple filters finds more items, rather than finding the intersection of the two filters. You need to be able to specify AND or OR between multiple filters in the web part.

  2. Improve SharePoint Document Metadata Entry

    Changes which were implemented by Microsoft in Office 2016 and SharePoint Online, as well as list view thresholds make entering SharePoint metadata on documents prohibitive.

    Office 2016 Desktop Applications:

    One significant change in Office 2016 was the removal of the document information panel (DIP). When the DIP displayed in Office applications (pre-2016), it was obvious even to the most casual SharePoint users that there were document properties which should be assigned values, as well as how to enter these values.   3. Add Article Tagging to the Modern News Feature

    It would be great to tag News posts/articles by category (e.g., training, motivational, announcement, etc.). Users could then refine by category to see all articles under that tag.

  4. Leave files checked-out when required fields are not populated

    Dragging and dropping (or "Uploading") files in to a Modern View library does not leave files checked-out even when required fields are not populated.

  5. Better Content Type Hub Management

    For large enterprise's where the number of content types around 100+ it becomes quite cumbersome to manage, especially when using the content type hub.

    There is no way of viewing which columns are in use by which content type.

    Summary screens about publishing status of content types or last published date.

    Information about whether a content type has been changed since it was last published

    Bulk operations such as add/remove column to multiple content types quickly.

    Promotion of a site collection based content type to the hub.

  6. SharePoint Online should preserveve modified date and more from imported files

    When importing files from file shares to SharePoint in Office 365 the modified date and so on is set equal to the import time. This means SharePoint is not able to display the correct historic dates of files, though it actually keep initially modified date when viewing file details in Explorer view so the date actually still is there but not visible.
    For SharePoint to be a true content management system basic metadata should be preserved when moved to SharePoint. Not being able to track such metadata may for many companies be an issue and at the same time end…

  7. Please have all columns types compatible with Calculated and validation

    Actually, only few columns types are usable by Calculated columns and Columns Validation. It would be EXTREMELY convenient if we could use:
    -Lookups (text)
    -Lookups(ID)
    -Managed Metadata (Text)
    -Managed Metadata (Term-ID)
    -Multiple lines of text
    -Item ID (current Item)
    -Document Name (current Document)
    -Yes/No (check box)

    It would be also great if there was an option to format calculated column as HTML (for now only text, date, number)

  8. Add Cascading/Dependent Dropdown Relationship Capability to Content Types

    Scenario: An organization is broken down into a hierarchical structure of offices, departments, divisions, sections, and branches. Each unit has an Name, Acronym, human resources organizational code, information technology organizational code, and internal accounting codes.

    (1) The SharePoint Online development team is routinely creating lists/libraries and content types across multiple collections and sites that prompt the users to select an organization and upon this selection bring in the organization's related information such as it's HR and IT codes.

  9. Bring Document Information Panel Back

    Bring back the Document Information Panel in Office 2016! Having SP properties mixed in with the standard document properties (author, modified date, etc.) is very inefficient. Users will opt to not fill in any properties instead of looking through all the properties presented and having to search for custom SharePoint properties. This is a huge step back.

  10. Copy metadata with files to new site collections

    Why does it seem impossible (without serious custom work) to copy a file from one site collection to another and have it retain its metadata?

  11. Allow terms to be reused in the same term set (so a term can be the child of two parent terms in the same termset, called "Polyhierarchy")

    Currently SharePoint online only allows you to reuse terms in a different term set.

    An example would be the term Financial report, It would be practical to have a broader term of Financial documents and another broader term of Reports. Some users will look for the term under Financial documents, and other users will look for it under Reports. This is what the "reuse" feature of the Term Store is designed to allow. However, SharePoint Online only allows you to reuse a term IN A DIFFERENT TERM SET. So if your term "reports" and "financial reports" are in the same…

  13. Make Metadata columns visible in Windows Explorer

    The ability to display metadata columns in Windows Explorer would provide benefits for bulk uploading; accuracy and drive user adoption. Please consider this implementing this functionality.

  14. Turn Folders into Metadata

    It would be nice if when users use folders in libraries that the folders also counted as metadata - This way we wouldn't have to try and change behavior which is extremely difficult to do and proper metadata would be applied to all files within each folder appropriately.

  15. Site Navigation

    Please keep the site navigation consistent between site content area and page. Also the new pages destroys the top site navigation. If I do managed navigation based on the termset then I want to see that consistently throughout the site.

  16. Metadata integration into PDFs

    Coordinate with Adobe, or figure out on your own, how to allow PDFs to retain metadata outside of Sharepoint.

  17. Pop in to Upload form, for metadata entry and check in, when dropping files in to a library.

    The easier we can make it to upload docs with properly managed metadata the more they will adopt our systems rather than finding work arounds. My suggestion is to add a feature to SharePoint out of the box libraries that requires the Upload form to appear for any document dropped in to the library. What I've heard so far is that the ability to drag multiple files gets in the way of this. Well SharePoint can stack forms just like it does in other areas.

  19. Taxonomy field picker wild card search

    The taxonomy field picker now only supports the 'STARTS WITH' principle when typing in the input box (aka if you search for ABC, it would return "ABC DEF", but not "DEF ABC").
    It would be nice if you could type in an entry and it would return terms that CONTAIN the searched text.
