Add the ability to copy a modern site page from one site to another
You cannot copy a site page from on site to the site pages folder of another site. This is crazy. You can't restructure your pages into other sites. This prevents users from investing any effort in configuration that might change. It is extremely limiting.
2,156 votesThanks for the suggestion. While this can accomplished via PnP Powershell today, we understand the desire to have a way to do it in the UX. We’ll add it to our backlog.

Stop opening links in new tab in modern pages
Please stop opening links in a new tab by default in modern pages.
It is against standard web behaviour (https://www.w3.org/TR/2012/NOTE-WCAG20-TECHS-20120103/G200), and is confusing to users when they end up with 10+ tabs open when navigating even the simplest site.
Make it optional by all means, it makes sense in a number of cases, just please not by default.
1,888 votesIn modern pages, we open links within SharePoint in the same tab by default, and external links in a new tab. In the text web part, users can specify to open links in a new tab, but that isn’t the default behavior. Similarly, for navigation links, they follow the same rule (within SharePoint, same tab, external to SharePoint in a new tab). This is true of the modern web parts that support linking as well (hero, quick links, images, etc.) This is the pattern we’ve adopted for consistency.
After reviewing other areas of modern sites, like the site pages library, document libraries, lists, site contents, etc. we did find some different opening behaviors which we’ll review and resolve.
Can you help us understand if this pattern isn’t meeting your expectation, if we have some inconsistencies within modern pages we’ve missed, or if it’s the other areas of modern sites where…

A Total Revamp for Wikis
Could we please have the ability to create Wikis in SharePoint that look like TechNet or Wikipedia? Please try to make things more simple. Do not over complicate it again.
1,222 votesWe know wikis are critical to sharing knowledge within your organization! We’ve been slowly building capabilities to share information more easily with our focus on modern pages and web parts. And with that work, we’ve been adding some of the capabilities we hear you want when people refer to wikis (easily add links to other pages or content, add metadata to each page to help people find and categorize it, roll-up content based on that metadata to show groupings of like content, etc.) But we know this isn’t all that’s required to have a great wiki. Many people also want wiki linking syntax e.g. [[]], we don’t yet support that, but we do support ctrl/command + K from the text web part to search and find pages on your site. We’ll be working on adding wiki syntax shortly. We know you also need easy roll-up pages, maybe an index page,…

Full-Width Column Webpart available to Team Site Template
In the Modern Experience, allow the option to add "Full-Width Column" webpart. Currently, this is exclusively available for Communication Site template. Would be great to have this available for Team Site template. It does not look aesthetically appealing have this area of white space on the right hand on a site page.
931 votesWe initially didn’t enable the full width column on team sites due to the vertical navigation on the left and left justification of team site pages. How do you imagine it should work/look on those pages?

remove recycle bin from left navigation for Visitors
Recycle bin is not relevant for visitors resp. page viewers (users with read permission to the site.) Add the ability to remove it from navigation.
People who wants it can always add it as a standard link to the menu.

Too much white space
There is too much white space on the new modern pages. I would rather see less white space and be able to adjust the spacing myself.
566 votesThank you for everyone’s feedback around the use of white space on modern pages. We are continually looking for ways to refine our designs and the use of white space is an important part of this. While the custom control of sections or the custom control of columns is not likely to happen, there could be other optimizations we will be thinking about in the future. Thank you.

Printing Modern pages
Need a way to print modern pages, without the navigation pane etc.
539 votesWe’ve already made some improvements to how modern pages layout for print in chrome. We’re also looking at additional improvements as well.

Allow customizing fonts in “Modern” pages.
*English follows Japanese
■Title(件名):
"モダン" ページのフォントをカスタマイズできるようにしてほしいAllow customizing fonts in “Modern” pages.
■Description(内容):
現時点で "モダン" ページのフォントをカスタマイズすることができないため、カスタマイズできるようにしてほしい。Currently, I recognized that the customization for fonts is not available on “Modern” pages.
In order to improve the usability for the pages, it will be great if we could customize fonts on “Modern” pages as well.
Thank you for your consideration.

Allow changing the width of columns when adding sections to a Modern Page
Looks like you can't change columns' width when creating a new section in a Modern Page. Being able to chage it would be very useful. My classic page, for example, has a section containing 3 columns, where the first and last ones have their width set to 25%, while the central one has width set to 50%. In Modern Pages, I can only have 3 columns with the same width, 33% in this case.
449 votesThanks you for the suggestion. We’ve discussed adding additional column layout options (e.g. 4 columns, the specific example provided by the initial suggester 25/50/25, etc.) If we wanted to keep pages consistent (so there aren’t 50 layouts), but allow additional flexibility, what would be the next three layout choices you’d add? Thanks!

Add Table of Contents (TOC) for SharePoint Wiki pages.
Wikipedia had it implemented years ago. I suggest you to add a dynamically created Table of Contents (TOC) for SharePoint Wiki pages, according to the title-styles used in the documents.

Publish a modern page on a given time
My users would like the ability to publish a modern page on a given time. Now it is only possible to publish a page directly. Make it possible to publish a modern page on time the user (optionally) enters in a datetime field.
331 votesWe’re currently working on this feature now. You’ll be able to specify when your modern page actually gets published (date/time).

Timeline - Gantt View in Modern Experience
Timeline in Modern Experience Gantt View
The tasks app should allow a timeline to be created and displayed in the modern experience of sharepoint online.
Tasks needs to be created and searchable in the modern experience. Just like it use to work in the classic experience.

Customizing Column Width
Modern lists seem to have an unmodifiable min width (even with JSON). Also, manually adjusted column widths reset upon refresh.
It seems many are asking for customizable and SET column widths (similar to setting widths for web parts would be satisfactory or even allow JSON to alter).
The excessive white space and scrolling right is problematic and inefficient.

File Viewer web-part needs view-size option
File Viewer: The Web-part for this is great, but does not allow a large enough view port for the document. Could we have a size of view option? I would like to be able to view a whole page of A4 at normal or near normal view size on an HD monitor.

Improve Highlighted content web part to support custom content types and their custom columns
I'd like to show users documents from an another site (different o365 group site). I came across the Highlighted content web part which is a very flexible and potentially useful function. However I can not filter my documents with it as it
1 does not show custom content type at the type or document type filters (even though my content type is directly inheriting Document), and does not lists my documents either (basically being Documents because of the inheritance)
2 can not select custom columns of my content type at the managed property filter.218 votesWe’re working on an option in highlighted content to enable custom queries where you can provide the KQL or CAML and specify your own query. This will enable you to search by custom content types.

News post notifications to author, not creator
In our organisation, we often create news posts for others that do not have the rights to do so. We then set them as the Author of the news post.
However, when others subsequently comment or "like" the news post, the email notification is sent to the creator and not the author.
We would like to ability to change the notification behavior such that authors can be set up to receive the comment notifications.

MUCH, TOO MUCH White Space
MUCH, TOO MUCH white space on a new modern page. I would REALLY like to be able to have some control over this and other formatting elements on these pages.

All classic web parts for Modern Team Sites
Prior to modern pages, we had many web parts to choose from in SharePoint (Content Search, Search Box, Search Results, Content Editor Web Part, etc.). Some of the modern web parts are cool, but the Content Search, Search Box, Search Results, Content Editor Web Part are HUGELY important and widely used. The search web parts mentioned tie in nicely to Custom Display Templates and allow us to bring back content from anywhere in the farm. The Content Editor Web Part is a staple...it allows us to link to a txt or html file to surface custom content in a web…

Enable/Disable comments on the whole site
You added a comment area in the new experience pages, then added a on/off button. But i can not disable comments in one time, on all pages ! i need to do it, one per one. please, add a global option, in the site level, to enable or disable this feature on the current site.

Define section background color in the modern pages
Please let us define a custom background color for a Section on the page.
It would allow us to give more "rhythm" to the page content and highlight some content on the page.
For example the https://dev.office.com/ site uses a light blue "section background color" to separate the "getting started"-links from rest of the content.
184 votesnot in our plans right now ·AdminSites Product Team (Product Owner, Microsoft SharePoint) responded
Today modern pages support picking one of three colors derived from the site theme (soft, neautral, strong). We likely won’t be investing in the option to add arbitrary other colors as a section background, violating the site’s theme. For the other suggestions, please open a unique uservoice suggestion (e.g. support section background images)
