News Digest Banner and Logo Enhancements
News Digests:
1. Please allow the ability to add a customer banner (color and/or picture).
2. Please allow the ability to have sections and a colored headers for each.

Provide an editable field for publish date of pages and news articles. As we migrate content from another platform it's important to maintain existing "published" dates

New Communication SIte - Add Categories to News Articles
Categorize and filter news articles on new publishing site
Ability to select category (or multiple) for a news article when you create it. Plus the ability to filter the news widget by category.
Exactly like you can for events. Plus the ability to select multiple categories if you choose.324 votesToday you can add metadata to modern pages and news. Also the news web part currently supports filtering news by metadata, as long as the source of the content is the current site.
We’re working to enable this same filtering across sites right now.

Office 365 Connectors web part in Communication Sites
Office 365 Connectors within SharePoint are only available for use within group-connected SharePoint team sites, according to https://support.office.com/en-ie/article/use-the-connector-web-part-db0756aa-f78f-4b74-8b19-be5dca0420e1.
Please add support for using Office 365 Connectors also in Communication Sites. For example, I would like to display data from outside by using an RSS Feed connector on a Communication Site page.

Modern Page Ratings
Will the functionality to like/rate pages be added to the modern pages? This is obviously available on classic pages and would be a great addition to the modern pages especially within the Communication sites.

Smaller hero web part
Hi! It would be great if you could chose to have the hero web part in lesser height.
189 votesWe’ve reduced the height of the hero web part when in full width columns, but still maintain as much of the aspect ratio as possible. On a very large monitor this can still make the hero quite tall. Authors could also drag hero our of the full width column, into a one column layout (with gutters) , which significantly reduces the height. How would you imagine it should work differently in the full width, or is moving to a one column layout the right choice for reduced height? Thanks!

Add Rating Settings to Document Libraries
Add the "Rating Settings" to document libraries in Communication Sites. This exists on other doc libraries from other site templates. This would allow users to rate/like content and we could add a section of "most like documents" etc to the page.

Comment Alerts
SharePoint site news articles are great with the embedded comments section. I would ask and recommend that there be some sort of notifier/alert to the original comment poster when someone else responds to it. This would help keep conversations going forward. It's rather hard to find your original comments when there are many comment posts.

Disable Comments on new Pages by default
I like the new Comments feature on Comm. Sites.
But there are use cases, where you need to create plenty of pages without comments. After publishing a new page we need to edit, disable comments and publish this page again.Would be nice to enable/disable comments by default on Site Collection level.

table of contents on modern page
Some times there is a need to create a long text divided by headings level 1 and 2, on a Communication site. There is already the heading functionalities. Would it be possible to add a table of content-functionality, and give the reader a chance to jump to next text section on a page, or click the relevant "heading" in the table of contents.

Create Groups sites under /Teams and Communications sites under /Sites
Communications sites should not be created in the same managed path as Groups sites. They are not managed the same way and don't follow the same rules.
At least, allow the selection of the path on the create screen.

We are planning to provide a path selection mechanism in the new admin center, but until then we’ll look to at least amend the PowerShell (note that you can already set the path using PnP PowerShell – specifically, the New-PnPTenantSite cmdlet).

Improvements to HERO tiles size and layout
Can there be an option to make the Hero Tiles smaller? They are very large and would be good to have some control of the size and how many tiles you can have (5 is too little, I might want 6+ smaller tiles, for example)

We should be able to schedule news digest emails. For example, every Friday send a news digest of that weeks news.

Event Metadata
Add metadata functionality to the event calendar.
Open-up calendar functionality to allow us to:
- Add multiple "category" fields
- Select more than one category for an event
- Tag events with managed metadata & Folksonomy

Fix Highlighted Content Events to show the event and not the list view
Highlighted Content Events do not show the event when you click on the event within highlighted content.
News events in highlighted content shows the news article that was originally posted. So why don't events?
The highlighted content event should show the actual event.

SharePoint: add "Delete" or "Edit" option to Comments
Is it in the plans to add a delete or edit function to the comment section on SharePoint? This increased functionality would be very beneficial. It would also be nice if the editors for the site had access to delete any comment that is made in case it is inappropriate. If I am missing this function somewhere, please advise.

Better Usage Report for Communication Sites
We are using the communication sites mostly for company news, but we still cant see who read this or that news.
So, considering the objective of a coomunication site, it will be great if we can see:
1. Who has accessed the main page;
2. Which page news they opened;A ranking for most read news and this kind of thing will also be amazing!

E-mail Followers of communications site
I would like to have the option to mail followers of my communications site within my business when we post a news article. At present we have a lot of news coming from product groups internally but unless a user checks their main sharepoint page they wont know if news is available and quite often things can go unseen. Ideally we would be able to post news and choose to mail our followers an alert on this to ensure their choice of topic is delivered to them.
