I suggest you ....

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

There are two ways to get more votes:

  • When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.
  • You can remove your votes from an open idea you support.
  • To see ideas you have already voted on, select the "My feedback" filter and select "My open ideas".

Enter your idea and we'll search to see if someone has already suggested it.

If a similar idea already exists, you can support and comment on it.

If it doesn't exist, you can post your idea so others can support it.

Enter your idea and we'll search to see if someone has already suggested it.

  1. Expose REST Endpoints in the SharePoint UI

Here’s an idea I had a while ago based on a conversation I had with some of the other SharePoint MVPs: expose the REST endpoints and documentation right in the UI for those who have the appropriate permissions. It could be a little icon at the bottom of any page where there are relevant end points. All content is security trimmed anyway, so no one is going to see an endpoint they can’t use (though if they can fathom the docs they can know what endpoints there are available).

    Think about it:

You’re on a List Settings page, and you…

    • Modern list experience: Fix filtering for Managed Metadata columns

the Sharepoint modern list experience is great, but incorrect filtering implementation for Managed Metadata columns prevents us from moving on to this new look.
Symptom: when creating a list Filter based on a "Managed Metadata" column, the behavior is as follows:
if the term set on which the Managed Metadata column is based on, contains more than 20 items, the user will have the ability to filter only on the first 20 items via checkboxes. All items in the term set beyond the 20th will be unavailable for filtering. This is because there is no ability to provide a filtering…

      • Column Formatting String Operations

Add additional string options to Declarative Customization Column Formatting. Specfically:

        Unary Operations:
        length
        toLowerCase()
        toUpperCase()
        trim

        Binary Operations:
        indexOf
        lastIndexOf
        endsWith
        startsWith

        Additional Operations:
        replace
        substring
        padStart
        padEnd

The order of operands, the return value, and the functionality would all match their JavaScript equivalents.

Having these would greatly increase the power of Column Formatting both in terms of string formatting but also with powerful conditional formatting. Without these basic operations, Column Formatting is still pretty limited.

        • Spell Checker in Wiki Pages

Currently, the Spell Check option is only available on the the Publishing Sites. It would be great if we have this spell checker option in the SharePoint Site Collection Wiki pages without activating Publishing features.

          Thanks & Regards,
          Bhanu

          • Column Formatting Alt Attribute

Add the ability to specify the Alt attribute in Declarative Customization Column Formatting.

This is a required attribute for img elements to provide alternate text for an image if the image cannot be displayed or if a user is using a screen reader.

            • Enable Communication Site Pages to work with custom Site Columns and Content Types

If communication sites are meant to replace the classic "publishing" pages, site developers will need to be able to make use of custom Site Columns and Content Types as we have in the past. Currently developers can add custom elements to the Site Pages library in which Communication Sites pages are created, but those custom elements do not display when the pages are put in edit mode or the form to edit the page's properties is displayed.

              • Empty value for Choice Field

If a Choice field is not mandatory there should be the possibility to set it blank in the New/Editforms through UI by each user.

                • Apply the same process when creating documents in libraries

Depending on the way it is performed, depending on library settings, depending on browser file creation in library is always a different process. I think it would be nice for end users if the process would be the same all the time:
                  - ask the user for a file name
                  - if mandatory metadata (without default values): display metadata form
                  - then open document (in client or web application)

                  • Extend the URL Path Length

Many of my users have experienced the "Filename too long" error when using SharePoint. Please extend the length of the URL Path. This issue is becoming a major problem for us.
