Solution for "The file [filename] is locked for exclusive use by [account-name]"
An option should be added to the "FILES" tab (when a document is selected) to unlock a document that "is locked for exclusive use by [user]"
As advised by O365 support, currently the only workaround is to download a copy and re-upload.

Provide support for SSL and IP Address bindings in IIS
Provide full support for IIS bindings - i.e. include SSL and IP Address + SNI options. It is slightly ridiculous that these settings must be managed outside of SharePoint and influence the logic of web application creation. Bring web app creation up to date with the versions of IIS SharePoint is running on.

Adjust the SharePoint Srvr licensing model (& its requirements) to be compatible with making available an ISV product on SaaS business model
The current licensing model isn't friendly at all if you're thinking on making your SharePoint product available as a Cloud SaaS.
To go Cloud, this must needed change must occur so that the SharePoint (and its ecosystem required products) licensing model to fit well with SaaS business models without an obscene entry cost in licensing that crushes your initial investment as an ISV.
We have this product that we developed, and it requires SharePoint Server.
We’ve been considering for some time now the possibility of making our product also available as a SaaS.
However, as SharePoint Server is a requirement…

Cut loose „add to timeline“ from „manage lists“ permission
Recently we had an issue that we wanted the users to add tasks to the timeline. They couldn’t, because they hadn’t the “manage lists” permissions.
We don’t want them to add views, columns or new lists, they just need to add a Task to the Timeline.
Could you please change this?32 votes -
Stop pushing SharePoint updates via Windows Update
We all know the poor track record of SharePoint updates (security and non-security) when it comes to quality, still the updates are pushed via Windows Update causing all kinds of issues on on-premises farms.
Most common scenario is that IT doesn't really understand SharePoint, so they allow updates via WSUS (or just install them directly) to one or all servers of the farm, causing all kinds of "by-design" issues, as SharePoint Config Wizard needs to be executed to get the farm working properly again, OR the patch first needs to be installed on all SharePoint servers to make it work…

Improve content types and content type hub-functionality
Content types:
Enable content type-based default values in addition to site column-based and location-based default values. Allow farm administrators to specify which takes priority in cases of conflict (and make them function reagardless of if the user creates a new document from the ribbon, uploads it or drag-and-drops it into the library)
Enable all and any sharepoint columns to be displayed, and when applicable edited, from within the document (not just in the ribbon). For example give us the option to automatically propagate your new unique farm-wide document ID-based url in the actual document content. would be fantastic for users…

Roll out ALL changes to the Canary tenant before global roll out
It is very helpful that Microsoft makes a 'Canary Tenant' available to test existing solutions with upcoming changes to the platform. This helps us to catch potential breaking changes early.
However, it turns out that only new functionality is rolled out to the Canary Tenant, not other changes. For example this caused major problems with our customers when Code Based sand-boxed solutions were discontinued without adequate warning (other than a general announcement a couple of years earlier without a specific date).
Please roll out ALL non-emergency changes to the Canary Tenant before rolling them out globally.

Revert default date format to "Standard" from "Friendly"
When I want to know the time and date that something was Created or Modified I require a bit of standardized precision.
e.g. [5/31/2017 7:33 PM] (actually, I'd prefer the ISO standard of [2017-05-31 19:33] but that's another discussion).
Instead, the "Friendly" format gives you useless approximations like "a few minutes ago", or "29 minutes ago", or "May 5".
This is what people are used to and what I suspect is the majority use case.
Why would we want to impose a non-standard format, "Friendly" or otherwise. The "Friendly" format is the unusual non-standard format and as such deserves to…14 votes -

Enable calendar overlays across site collections when using HNSC
We've just converted the site collections at a client site from path-based site collections to host-named site collection and discovered that calendar with overlays of calendars from other site collections do not work once we've made the switch to HNSC.
Please enable the ability to use calendar overlays using calendars stored in other host-named site collections. This is an issue with host-named site collections that is disappointing considering Microsoft is recommending the use of HNSC.

Content type hub should also propagate workflows
Currently, they only way to provision a workflow to site collections is to use the exported wsp-files from SharePoint designer. This however requires custom scripting to be enabled.
For on prem you may use a farm solution but this is not applicable to SPO.
If this was handled by the content type hub there would be no dependencies on the old feature framework.
