  2. Remove "Get Skype for Business" from Office 365 home page

On the homepage of Office 365 there is currently a notice to "Get Skype for Business". This appears even if you have Skype for Business installed or if Skype for Business installations have been disabled by the administrator. Please do something about this as it's a massive usability red flag.

Either allow us to turn it off or get rid of it all together.

  3. Enable movement of content between farms

Best practice dictates that we develop in a dev farm, move to test/qa for user testing and verification before deploying into production. Why doesn't SharePoint Central Administration enable this process and encourage best practices?

We need an OOTB method to both 'refresh' dev & test environments from prod and to easily promote content, lists, libraries, pages etc. from dev to test and on to prod farms. Publishing is not the answer for everything, third party tools work but this is something that should be standard behavior in an enterprise software such as SharePoint.

  4. Extend the management of the Managed Metadata Service

The existing functionality within the Managed Metadata Service Application is limited in its ability to control and change entries within a SharePoint farm. MMDS is one of the core applications within the platform (affecting search, categorisation of content, data options within User Profiles), but the ability to export/import (with GUIDs) make wholesale changes to a Term Set is limited and not there. Increasing the administration functions within this application would prove a great benefit to the platform.

  5. Calendar

Calendar site permission should only list group which has site level access. It should not list those groups with "Limited Access" who are assigned unique permission in the lower level calendar list.

  6. people and group should be searchable by partial name instead of paging through hundres of pages to find the group to assign

people and group should be searchable by partial name instead of paging through hundreds of pages to find the group to grant access to a calendar.

  7. Concierge icon

You should have a concierge icon listed with the other icons at https://portal.office.com/Catalog?add=sub&adminportal=0 so that we can tell which Office 365 we are getting 24/7 Concierge support with.

  8. Provide support for SSL and IP Address bindings in IIS

Provide full support for IIS bindings - i.e. include SSL and IP Address + SNI options. It is slightly ridiculous that these settings must be managed outside of SharePoint and influence the logic of web application creation. Bring web app creation up to date with the versions of IIS SharePoint is running on.

  9. Adjust the SharePoint Srvr licensing model (& its requirements) to be compatible with making available an ISV product on SaaS business model

The current licensing model isn't friendly at all if you're thinking on making your SharePoint product available as a Cloud SaaS.

To go Cloud, this must needed change must occur so that the SharePoint (and its ecosystem required products) licensing model to fit well with SaaS business models without an obscene entry cost in licensing that crushes your initial investment as an ISV.

We have this product that we developed, and it requires SharePoint Server.

We’ve been considering for some time now the possibility of making our product also available as a SaaS.

However, as SharePoint Server is a requirement…

  10. Improve content types and content type hub-functionality

    Content types:

Enable content type-based default values in addition to site column-based and location-based default values. Allow farm administrators to specify which takes priority in cases of conflict (and make them function reagardless of if the user creates a new document from the ribbon, uploads it or drag-and-drops it into the library)

Enable all and any sharepoint columns to be displayed, and when applicable edited, from within the document (not just in the ribbon). For example give us the option to automatically propagate your new unique farm-wide document ID-based url in the actual document content. would be fantastic for users…

  11. Content type hub should also propagate workflows

Currently, they only way to provision a workflow to site collections is to use the exported wsp-files from SharePoint designer. This however requires custom scripting to be enabled.

For on prem you may use a farm solution but this is not applicable to SPO.

If this was handled by the content type hub there would be no dependencies on the old feature framework.

  12. Allow concurrent editing of excel workbooks in the client application

All co-authoring should be consistent. Co-authoring in Excel (the client) would have huge value. The web editor really does not work for power users.

  13. Targeted Stretched Farm Support

SharePoint supports a 1ms/1Gbps response time between SharePoint and SQL Server. Not all Service Applications require this level of latency. It would be great if the PG could release specific numbers for specific Service Applications (e.g. UPA must be 1ms, Word Automation Services 100ms, and so forth) or allow for variance for latency support, e.g. 1ms - 15ms fully supported.

  14. Workflows Cross Site LookUps

The Ability to look up information, create list items across Sites , subsite and Site Collections using Out the Box custom Workflows in SharePoint Designer.
Would be very handy and also include a new Infopath Form Creator built into the Workflow creation screen to similar to how we can now use visio designer in 2013 Designer.

If we have to store blob remotely we have to use third party products, it will be better if we have something from microsoft

  16. Currently the maximum number of unique security scopes set for a list cannot exceed 50,000.

Currently the maximum number of unique security scopes set for a list cannot exceed 50,000. Is there a plan to set this limit higher in SharePoint 2016?

  17. Property on user object to show if AD account is disabled

When an employee quit his/her job we disable the user`s AD account. This should be reflected onto the user object, so we can use REST queries to filter out all "old" users.

As far as I know, today, there is no way of retrieving all "active" users from siteusers.

  19. SharePoint 2016 - provide licenses for MIM Synch Service and documentation for running two way synch and enrichment via BCS

While testing SP2016 I wondered what will be the path for users currently using the buitl-in FIM version. Apparently you can use MIM synch service. But please add to SP2016 a license grant to use MIM synch service and proper documentation how to configure. Otherwise the removal of FIM (which for sure had its issues) w/o adequat substitue will just be a degeneration of the product.

  20. Add SharePoint 2016 IT Preview to Azure

On Microsoft Azure, you can stand up a SharePoint farm with just a few clicks. Please add the SharePoint 2016 IT Preview to this wizard so that IT Pros can test it out without requiring local server hardware.
