  1. Post the Swagger definitions of the User Profiles and Web APIs on a CDN

I'm not sure if tenant-specific information would be included in a Swagger definition, but it seems there should be publicly-available Swagger definitions (in JSON and YAML) of the User Profiles and Web APIs so they can be more easily tapped into. If there are lines that need to be configured for specific tenants, provide instructions on how to do so.

  2. Lookup Metadata Column and Office 2016 Microsoft case # 118020817613809

Custom content types with lookup columns don't currently work in Office 2016 and SharePoint Server 2016. The lookup column data is not accessible from Office, so the metadata cannot be selected. This is not an issue with SharePoint online and Office 2016, or with SharePoint Server 2016 and Office 2013. This has been an issue that has been brought to Microsoft's attention going back a couple of years, and there is still no resolution.

  5. SharePoint synced libraries allows required columns and check-in - OneDrive Client fix

Since the new OneDrive client was updated earlier in the year it has resulted in not being able to synced libraries which have required columns. You can sync them but all the local files are read only and have the green lock symbol against them. We really need to use sync and required columns, they are key pieces of functionality. Please can the OneDrive client be fixed to allow this.

  6. Design flaw with external sharing (guest users) and mail routing in Exchange Online

We have noticed a design issue in O365 with External sharing (guest users) and SMTP.
This has happened now many times with few different organizations.

Have discussed this with MS Technical Support and is currently Working As Designed - requesting change for this design.

    Scenario goes like this:
    1. our O365 users share files/data with External users, invite them with their email address firstname.lastname@foo.bar
    2. invited users will log in to O365 to gain access, External User account is created and that object is used when routing email messages sent from our O365.
3a) if external users Exchange UPN is…

  7. Prevent users from starting blogs

Admins in schools really need this feature. For every student that is curious and hits the button "new post" within the blog feature of Delve automatically a blogsite is created and even if nothing is written in there these blogs are recommended within the Sharepoint Startpage. For those of you already suffering from this, here is a link to delete these posts, so that these sites also dissapear from the Sharepoint Startpage:
    https://contoso.sharepoint.com/portal/personal/username/_layouts/15/deleteweb.aspx

There should be an option to simply prevent users from blogging beforehand!

  8. Remove the 5000 folder limit on SharePoint sites as it affects the OneNote API in Teams

On Teams if the Folder limit of 5000 is breached OneNotes will not be displayed.

The limit is a SharePoint Folder limit

  9. Allow more embed types beyond iframes

I wanted to embed some yelp reviews onto our new Communications Sharepoint site, but the embed web part will only allow iframe embeds. The yelp embed code comes in the form of a span tag.
It would be nice if the embed feature allowed more flexibility than just iframe.

  10. Improve PDF rendering of native Office Suite documents

Sharepoint is unable to properly render some Office 2016 filetype content. Case in point are DOCX filetypes in which Helvetica font is used - the resulting print document PDF has grossly misrepresented point spacing which is unusable - even for proofing.

Please improve/correct the PDF rendering engine so that Office 2016 filetypes stored in Sharepoint can be viewed/printed within Sharepoint without issue or resorting to content download (uncontrolled) and printed on a client with the Office 2016 app.

  11. Enable Office apps' site list to auto update

Currently when a user logs into the Office apps using an Office 365 account, they can see the organisation's main site listed within File > Open > Sites - [organisation name]

Please can you add the ability for this list to automatically add any new sites that are made available to the user to this list. e.g. Currently, I have created a new site but the user has to manually enter that URL into the Open or Save boxes to access. This is not ideal (users will just not use the site) so a way to automate these site lists…

  12. PowerPivot for SharePoint 2016 Bug - Snapshots only generate for localhost

I found a bug with PowerPivot for SharePoint 2016 and wanted to make sure it was brought to the team's attention. In short, I found that there's a hard dependency on "localhost" by the Excel Services REST API in SharePoint 2016. This means that workbook thumbnails will not generate in anything other than the first web app (if configured a specific way). I posted a blog with the details here: http://info.summit7systems.com/blog/bug-report-powerpivot-for-sharepoint-2016-thumbnails-not-generating. Support case 117021415318755 was created, so hopefully the bug report was submitted through it.

    Thanks, team!

  13. Outlook 2016 - Attach SharePoint File permissions

When a user uses the "Attach File" in Outlook 2016 and chooses a file on SharePoint online they are asked to allow recipients edit or view to the file. Can we have SharePoint check the permissions of the recipient rather than the sender? Currently if the sender does not have rights to make security changes to a Site, List or Library the sender gets and email with the following:

"You don't have permission to give others access to this file.
The message was sent, but the following people might not be able to access the attachment:"

    Sender will get this…

  14. send alerts to O365 distribution lists in SharePoint online

SharePoint Online should be able to send emails or alerts to O365 distribution groups in the same tenant.

  15. Microsoft Project .mpp files behavior

Is it possible to get following behavior when clicking an .mpp file in sharepoint online?
    - Open a webviewer for Project files (not possible right now)
    - just download the file.

Now the behavior is by design as follows:
    - you search for a file .mpp, click on it and a form opens instead of download directly.

    Data from Service Request 616112992836868:
The file search for filename.mpp gives the search result in the form of link (form) on SharePoint search instead of directly file extension like other excel or document files on SharePoint search.

As I was able to reproduce…

  17. Bug Fix: SharePoint Store: Sort by Rating

When sorting the SharePoint Store by ratings, it sorts by the NUMBER of ratings, not the ACTUAL rating.

    So, for example, the "All" bucket currently displays apps with the following rating: 2, 5, 5, 5, 4, 2, 5, 3, 5. If, however, you look at the NUMBER of ratings, they are sorted by: 41, 37, 35, 32, 32, 30, 28, 28, 27.

I can understand factoring the number of ratings into the sort order. After all, an app with one five star rating isn't particularly qualified. But the expectation when I sort by ratings is that I'm going to see…

  18. Bug Fix: SharePoint Store: Searching for Apps

When searching the SharePoint Store for apps, the default sort order (by relevance) is not very intuitive, especially when searching for otherwise common words.

For example, searching for "Document Library" returns two pages of app results without "Document Library" in the title (though, presumably, they have these words in the description or other metadata).

As another example, one might think that searching for "List Carousel" would have the app named "List Carousel" displayed first. Instead, it's fourth, after "Corporate News App", "Apptex Designer", and "Image Carousel".

I don't doubt that these are relevant results in each instance. But it'd be…
