  1. Disable "Add Shortcut to OneDrive" for a Document Library

"Add Shortcut to OneDrive" is a new feature in the last few months. When it was in Public Preview, there was a PowerShell command to disable that feature:

    "Set-SPOTenant -DisableAddShortcutsToOneDrive $true"

This command was announced in MC217339 of the O365 Message center. Based on my interaction with support in Case 22963247, that PowerShell command is no longer available now that the feature is no longer in Public Preview.

I would like the ability to disable "Add Shortcut to OneDrive" again. My environment is about 50% Windows 10 LTSB (1607), and when users "Add Shortcut", it syncs the Document Library to…

  2. Change of the limit to ameliorate the migration to OneDrive/SharePoint (error: it exceeds the list view threshold)

    Hello,

I am doing migration of on-premise servers to the cloud, and Microsoft products have interesting prospect in that matter. However, I am facing an annoying problem. When I move on-premise data from Microsoft servers, I cannot set the same access right in the folders because there is a limit threshold of 50'000 items (The attempted operation is prohibited because it exceeds the list view threshold). For a company that has several years of data it is very common that they would reach that threshold. I understand that inside the structure, deep in the folders, it might be possible to…

  3. Label "start the retention period based on" on the last read/access

Currently Label retention can be based on : When Items were created, Modified , Labeled, Employee activity, Expiration or termination of contracts ..., Product lifetime.

In order to use Label to maintain the SharePoint/Teams space with only used files, the last access/read is needed.

  4. Comments on list item in SharePoint Online

Currently, we can enable and disable commenting functionality on list items at the tenant level, not for a specific list or site scope.

So I think it would be great to have an option at list settings to enable or disable comments for a specific list.

Also, at the site level, we should have the same option at site settings to control the commenting functionality for all lists for a specific site, instead of the tenant level.

I have received many questions related to this request from my customers and technical communities. so I have decided to raise this idea…

  5. Powershell SPO Module needs to be update to work in Cloud Shell for a cloud only environment

SharePoint SPO PowerShell module needs updating to work in Azure Cloud Shell.
It should also have the option to sign in with Device Code, or App Registration.

When communicating with Microsoft Support, their default choice of tooling is SPO PowerShell Module. Unfortunately, due to limitations on our work environment, I'm unable to run powershell or install anything on the laptop. I have to work only from within Cloud tooling.

The latest PNP Powershell module works with PowerShell 7.1 and within the Azure Cloud Shell. However, it turns not all commands are replicated the same. For example Set-SPOSite -Owner <UPN> sets…

  6. Ability to download malicious files for Security Admins

If "Set-SPOTenant -DisallowInfectedFileDownload $true" is set, and an infected file is detected, there is no way to download it for analysis, for security team. It would be great to give such access to Security Admins or another role and be able to download the file as a password protected zip for analysis and determine if it's a fale or true positive.

  7. "Replace ALL" option is missing in while uploading multiple files of the same name in SharePoint Online document library

In SharePoint Online document library, when you upload multiple documents of the same name it should display an option called "Replace All" instead of that it only displays "Replace" option, and it is really time consuming to click on "Replace" on every uploaded file, so imagine if you upload more than 200+ file in the document library to replace them with existing file with the same name, then you have to click one by one on each and every file to "Replace". This is a known functionality i wonder how it is not available in Modern experience document library whereas…

  8. Ability to change default language for existing Site Collections

Where users can use the MUI feature to localise Site Collections, it should be possible to change the default language of a Site Collection by Site Collection Admins after the site has been created.
The issue we often face is that Site Collections in SharePoint On-Premises and SharePoint Online serve as templates. Now when creating a new site based on such a template the default language is kept and cannot be changed.
Due to AD on-prem AAD sync, users aren't able to change their Display Language (only admins can do this via PS) means users are greeted with the default…

  9. Add an option to remove 'Files' activity from Contact Cards

MS want you to share your files onto 365 for ease of access, but don't seem to care a jot about the security implications or hierarchy within an organisation when doing so. There are scores of complaints online about the fact that when you hover over a Contact Card in SPO, it displays files those users have recently been working on, simply because they've saved them to 365. Just add an option to remove this activity. It's both pathetic and downright lazy that nobody at Microsoft wants to perform a simple fix that would close so many potential security loopholes.

  10. Make it possible to get MAC addresses from the audit logs

    ■Title(件名):

Make it possible to get MAC addresses from the audit logs

    ■Description(内容):
    現在条件付きアクセスなどを構成していない環境ですが、テレワークが増えたことで社外からアクセスする機会が増えています。
    MAC アドレスでどの端末がアクセスしたかを確認したいのですが、監査ログでは取得が出来ません。
    そのため監査ログ上で取得するアクセスのログから MAC アドレスが確認出来るよう機能の拡充を希望します。

Currently, our environment does not have conditional access etc. configured, but with increasing amounts of remote work, the number of times we need to access meetings from external locations is increasing.
I want to check which devices accessed these using their MAC addresses, but it is not possible to find this information from the audit logs.
    Therefore, please make this possible.

  11. Add Support Partner option from modern site admin page

The Classic Site Collections page is going away tomorrow, 12/2/20. However there is no replacement for the "Add Support Partner" option.

The article referenced below tells you to use PowerShell. However, they say to go to a site where you have already added a Support Partner, and use PowerShell to copy that to another site collection. If you need to add a Support Partner to a site collection in a tenant for the first time, there will be no option to do so. I opened a support incident with Microsoft and they confirmed this to be the case and suggested…

  12. Provide capability for auditing storage quota changes to sites

When storage quota of a site is changed the action is not audited so there is no way to find out who made the change, when the change took place and so on. It would really helpful if this action is added in Audit Logs in Security and Compliance Center.

  13. Allow less restrictive access control policy for specific SPO sites

The ability to control access from unmanaged devices using the SharePoint Access Control functionality with Conditional Access is very useful.

However, the limitation that individual sites can only have more restrictive controls than the organisation level setting (as described in https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sharepoint/control-access-from-unmanaged-devices#block-or-limit-access-to-a-specific-sharepoint-site-or-onedrive) is frustrating.

It would be great if the organisation level setting could be set to restrict access from unmanaged devices but then defined sites that specifically need to be less restricted could be 'opened up' by reducing the restrictions.

We can do this at a user-level using Conditional Access exclusions but there's no way to apply an exclusion…

  14. Log changes to files permissions due to changes in Sharpoint's sharing policy in the admin center

When an admin changing the sharing policy from SharePoint's admin center, that may affect files that are already shared.

We would like to get logs for all the files affected that were affected by this change (via a unified audit log).

For example, few files are shared via an anonymous link, then the admin changes the sharing policy in the admin center disallowing sharing via anonymous links- we expect to get events\logs for all the files that are no longer shared via anonymous links.

  15. Stop column formula references using internal names causing references to break when columns are published.

Stop using internal names in the background when referencing site columns in formulas. If the display name of a referenced site column is different from the internal name and it contains spaces, the formula will use the internal name when added to a list/library causing an error. When the calculated column is published from the CTHUB it also breaks the formula as the referenced column doesn't exist wit the same name on other site collections.

  16. Export SharePoint List Comments Field

There is a great new feature to add comments to list items directly into a SharePoint list. Once a comment is entered there is an icon that displays on the list view. Comments are listed in chronological order in a right hand side panel that displays once the comment icon is selected This side pane provides GREAT details: Time/date of comment, author of the comment and obviously the content of the comment. The problem is there is no way to export this data out of the list with the list objects. What use is the data if we can't use…

Please provide Windows PowerShell commandlets that support Microsoft Stream

    ■Description(内容):
Currently Windows PowerShell commandlets that support Microsoft Stream are not provided, and GUI has to be used to manage settings and information, which is very inconvenient.
Thus we hope Windows PowerShell commandlets will be provided to support Microsoft Stream.
To give a more concrete example, we hope that commandlets will be provided to extract a list of new videos that have the…

  19. Prevent or at least mention creation of Conditional Access policies when modifying unmanaged device settings

If you modify the Unmanaged devices setting under Access Control in the SharePoint Admin center from "Allow full access from desktop apps, mobile apps, and the web" to "Allow limited, web-only access" and safe this setting, two Conditional Access policies are created targeted to "All Users" and which are enabled. There is no notification that this is happening and can cause some serious issues in a production environment, if the admin making the change is unaware of this "feature". This is even the case when using PowerShell to make the setting.

    Please fix this by:
    a) at least notify the…
