Enable Guest Links
Guest Links in SharePoint Server 2016 are technically possible to get working, and they do work, however it would be great if there was official support for them. These links would provide the same functionality as in SharePoint Online -- read-only and editing access for anyone who has the link. This is not a request to enable External User Sharing, as that requires further integration with Azure ACS.

All. You absolutelly do not understand the Microsoft policy. All on premise server products are limited, because they need your data on microsoft servers, where features are not limited. No on yours servers where you have full control on it. After 1 year of pain with sharepoint we have migrated from sharepoint and MS OSes to Linux and Collabora. Up to now no Cons. Bye MS.

We run a multi-tenant farm and are customizing an implementation of this since all our clients want it. It would be beneficial to have some functionality out of the box.

It would also be great to set an expiration time on the link.

Yes we would really like this, our customers are asking for it. One is even using Google for this functionally because it is missing from their SharePoint on premise.

We really need this feature, either we get it in SharePoint or we'll have to look elsewhere,
Either way we need this, as our users are finding their own "solutions" -

I agree with that! This feature is really what we need.

This feature is really helpful. This will provide a feature which is currently not available in SharePoint 2016 on premise. Having this feature will help us to transition to SharePoint Online when we are ready.
