Support for SQL 2016 Always Encrypt
SQL 2016’s Always Encrypted feature should be supported

We require single document encryption. Always Encrypted seems to be the solution, but is not supported yet.
Please support this soon!

From what I can glean from the docs, Always Encrypted is more efficient than TDE. For Healthcare and other industries that basically require encryption at rest, transit, etc., something must be implemented anyway. I would like the option with the most benefit and lowest performance hit.

Another who needs this for GDPR. One of the first questions our GDPR program manager asked me was whether the content DBs were encrypted.
This will be a big advantage with regards to GDPR regulation coming soon.

I am also very interested in getting this feature supported.

Please add the support! It will raise the security level of SP significantly!

SharePoint 2016 support for Always Encrypted in SQL2016 would eliminate many of the issues large users of SharePoint have with SQL encryption. Please consider adding support for Always Encrypted!

I am also interested in using SQL Always On Encryption in SharePoint. This would be a huge benefit as today we have to buy a separate third party RBS solution that support at-rest encryption in order to support business requirements that the data is protected due to sensitivity. This causes a number of side effects today that cause the business customers to shy away from SharePoint just because of this.
I am interested in getting SQL Server Always Encrypted supported by SharePoint.
