Create managed Paths in SharePoint ONLINE
In SharePoint online it would be very helpful to have also the possibility to create managed paths like /projects or /departments.

I would appreciate this feature very well! Please put it in your development line.
With the push to discourage the use of subsites in the new world of Hub Sites, I urge you, Microsoft, to give us the ability to create custom Managed Paths in SharePoint Online just like we could in SharePoint Server.
Case in point: I have a project to create a new corporate intranet using SPO to replace the existing one (also SPO). The current intranet lives at <tenant>/sites/intranet/xxx (where xxx is on of 20 or so subsites which make up our intranet). In this world, it is abundantly obvious to my users that they are using a site which is part of the corporate intranet because of the URL path, which contains /intranet/.
As a well-behaved, long-serving Microsoft Professional, I will design the architecture of my new intranet using the Hub Site methodology. Sadly, it will no longer be obvious when sites are part of the new intranet. Rather than merely unrelated sites living in my tenant with the same '/sites/' prefix.
This would be super helpful. We have several companies in our enterprise and this would provide our users with a clear distinction between Company A's HR site and Company B's HR site, for example. It would also enable us to do some easy search filtering.
Even if there is a legitimate technical reason why custom managed paths cannot be brought back to the admin console, at least give us a few more options besides "teams" and "sites". Even medium sized organizations need more mores to group their sites than that.

Microsoft deprecated the option to customize Managed Path so the only options you have are /teams and /Sites. All companies are trying to use different method to customize their URL without confuse the clients.
I am looking for this feature as well

Even just the ability to have these predefined for our use in the tenancy (instead of just /sites and /teams):
1) the /hubs managed path for the new hub sites would be nice
2) the /community managed path for use with community sites
