PowerBI and Sharepoint Image Permission Integration
When using a SharePoint Online list as a data source in PowerBI, image links do not work unless you are revealing the PowerBI dashboard inside a SharePoint page. (for more details, see links to PowerBI community discussions at the bottom of this post)
The only way to make them work today is to change the permissions individually, at an item-level, for every linked image. This is not practical.
Essentially, my dashboard works within SharePoint, but not PowerBI natively, and I am not able to consider extending it to other products such as Cortana.
I could go through all sorts of rigamarole with Flow to auto copy all images to an outside service like Dropbox, but that would be silly, and would compromise my data security model and governance.
Please extend permissions for a list's linked images through to PowerBI.

I have been waiting for some solution here since a year now.
It's really needed and it's happening the same problem if you store the images in the Commom Data Service. We are blocked to access the images unless the access is anonymous but this is not the common access at an enterprise level.
I'm surprised, it is still not fixed :(. Please add this function ASAP. It is much needed for our daily and weekly reports as we want to show team details and customer accolades with pictures

Very good, I've been looking for a workaround for this issue. I don't even understand why does that happens since we need to have the permissions to connect with the list in the first place.
I agree. This is a needed function...
Very surprised this functionality was not provided from the start. We have hundreds, soon to be thousands of reports. All have our logo and a standard background image.
It would be nice to have the ability to change our logo and background images for all reports via URL from a SharePoint image.
We change the image in SharePoint, all Power BI report images change to the new image uploaded replacing the old image...same url, just a replaced image.
Please consider this before we get too far down the development road and have to go back through thousands of reports and change each one individually.
