Access Requests Settings for Unique Permission O365 Group Sub-Sites
Currently Access Requests settings only have one of two options depending on the site collection template:
The problem is modern site collection (O365 Group) sub-site access requests are delivered to the top level O365 group owners with the (default) option to to "sub-site admins". If the sub-site was created with unique permissions (creating new SP groups), even though it shows it being admins for THAT sub-site set to receive the requests, they still go to the root site collection (O365 group) owners, who may not even have access to the sub-site.
This is both misleading and can cause issues with granting access. Please allow the option for ANY sub-site to have access requests sent to its own site owners or at least change the wording/appearance currently on modern sub-sites with unique groups so it's accurate to where the access requests are going.
I was guided by MS support to use the option of an email address for the sub-site (which is a step backwards), and to post here in hopes that it will get up-voted and noticed in this sea of so many ideas that get minimal visibility.
