  1. Have the crawl engine add the basic metadata of the file to the index before crawling the internals of the file.

    Have the crawl engine add the basic metadata of the file to the index before crawling the internals of the file. We have files that get the 759 timeout crawler error. These files are "invisible" to search and the user can no longer find the files. The problem is also with SharePoint Online but to a lesser extent since there's more horsepower on the SPO crawl engine. Or have a "clean up" crawl that just adds the basic metadata of the files with 759 timeouts to the index.

  2. Add a provision to send an email notification to the user or site owner if files are checked out for long time

    Its quite an important feature which is currently missing in sharepoint, i.e. if files are checked out for longer period, there should be a provision to notify users or site owner about this via email, etc.

  3. Improve SharePoint Audit Log to include the option to track who deleted the site collection administrator

    Someone deleted our Site Collection administrators from our site collection and there is no auditing to determine who did this. It is not possible to deterrmine how this happened and is a huge security issue.

  4. SAML 2.0 support for using Azure AD

    Per this content, ACS (Access Control Services) is necessary for using Azure AD with SharePoint Server because SharePoint Server do not support SAML 2.0 directory.
    https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn635311.aspx

    But as we know ACS will be closed.
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/ad/archive/2015/02/12/the-future-of-azure-acs-is-azure-active-directory.aspx
    So, even if SharePoint Server (2016 or later) provide to support SAML 2.0, it will be difficult to use Azure AD for SharePoint Server users. Hope to support it!

  5. performance monitoring

    to track down a performance issue in Sharepoint is extra complicated. Even you are storing all perfmon data in predefined Sharepoint SQL DB, I am still missing a solid description of tables or predefined query to read the data. Another problem is when you discover that IIS worker process for particular web app is using all your RAM, there is really challenge to track down what in detail from the web app allocates and consume all free memory.

  6. Export permission from all objects per site

    a feature to create a report that shows for each object, what account or group has a level of access. It would be great to be able to export a Site's user permissions. In addition, an option in the share point admin GUI to export all user and groups permissions for a site for our security team to review.

  7. We hope a feature will be provided to link and check file versions with Office 365 audit logs

    *English follows Japanese
    ■Title(件名):
    Office 365 監査ログとファイルのバージョンを紐づけて確認することができるよう機能の拡充を希望します。
    We hope a feature will be provided to associate and check file versions with Office 365 audit logs

    ■Description(内容):
    退職したユーザーにファイル流出疑惑が発生した場合、Office 365 監査ログよりログを出力し、ファイルおよびファイルのバージョンを確認したい。
    ※ アイテム保持ポリシーを利用しており、アイテム保管ライブラリに削除したファイルが各バージョン分保存されるよう設定している。
    しかし、現在の機能では出力したログがどのファイルのバージョンと紐づいているかを確認および識別する方法がない。
    Office 365 監査ログとファイルのバージョンを紐づけて確認することができるよう機能の拡充を希望します。
    We want to output logs from Office 365 audit logs to check files and their versions in the case when retired users are suspected of leaking out files.
    *The item retention policy is used, and it is set so that every version of the deleted files are saved in the Preservation Hold Library.
    However, there is no feature currently to confirm and identify which file…

  8. 'Shared with external users' report - Automate on a schedule

    The Site Usage - Shared with external users report is a nice feature, however you have to run it manually and save it to a library. It would even better if we can get this report sent out to the Site Owners of the site or an email address specified on a schedule (i.e monthly).

    This would better assist staff in getting an insight to who has access to what, driven automatically and delivered to their inbox.

  9. Audit Logs Not Generating for a Few Actions

    We have observed that there are a few actions with respect to SharePoint Online, which when performed (either via SPO admin center or PowerShell) doesn't generate any event in Audit logs. Here is a list of such actions:

    UI

    SharePoint Admin Center->Settings->Custom Script
    SharePoint Admin Center->Settings->Connected Services->Block SharePoint 2013 Workflows

    PowerShell

    PS> Set-SPOTenant -DisabledWebPartIds
    PS> Set-SPOTenant -DisallowInfectedFileDownload
    PS> Set-SPOTenant -ExternalServicesEnabled
    PS> Set-SPOTenant -NoAccessRedirectUrl
    PS> Set-SPOTenant -ODBAccessRequests
    PS> Set-SPOTenant -ODBMembersCanShare
    PS> Set-SPOTenant -OfficeClientADALDisabled
    PS> Set-SPOTenant -OwnerAnonymousNotification
    PS> Set-SPOTenant -UsePersistentCookiesForExplorerView
    PS> Set-SPOTenant -UserVoiceForFeedbackEnabled
    PS> Set-SPOTenantSyncClientRestriction -DisableReportProblemDialog

    Could you please look into this and provide any inputs as we need to track these…

  10. Audit logs for users to show logs of any purged content from the Recycle bin

    I would like the audit logs to record any purged content as well as files purged from the Recycle bin. Currently audit logs doesn’t get any records of deleted content other than files.

  12. Export List of Active Sites

    I would like to be able to export to Excel (or CSV) a list of Active Sites from the new SharePoint admin console. I need to do this so that I can inform a department manager that there are a number of similar sites and these should be consolidated or removed if not active. At the moment the only way to export a list to send to the manager is to retype the whole list. Please allow an Export to Excel feature on this list. Thank you.

  13. Crawl Logs Link

    It would be very useful if we have a crawl logs link under admin center for Global and Tenant admins.

  14. change feedback button design !!!!

    If the feedback button is visible , used (tenant feature not working at the moment) it must be clear who will get the feedback, After filling out and sending you will get the message feedback sent to Microsoft. This is not good customer expecting message sent to site admin or IT department.

  15. Sharepoint 2016 Data Loss Prevention ability to import custom templates

    SharePoint 2016 introduces a new feature called Data Loss prevention (DLP).
    Our organization would like to use this new feature, however after starting an evaluation process it came to our attention that SharePoint 2016 can only make use of predefined DLP Templates (10 Templates) all concerning US and UK PII data, social security numbers or financial data for these regions and that there is no way to build and import custom templates with custom data types as it is possible with Exchange 2013/2016 On premise or even O365 (https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj674310(v=exchg.150).aspx)

    For the DLP feature to be useful for European…

  16. Security and Compliance site permission change alerts

    It would be great to be able to target specific site collections for permission change event alerting in the Security and Compliance Center.

    Currently right now you have to target the entire SharePoint Online tenant if you want to configure alerts around Site Collection Admin added and SharePoint site permissions change events which might not be required outside of sites that contain confidential data.

  17. Export complete version history details for all files in a library

    For audit purpose, it is required to get a list of checked-in users and check-in comment for all files in important document libraries, usually having more than 100 files.

  18. Content Type template should override local Word template after upload

    There are situations where Word documents must comply strictly with a template (.dotx).

    The administrator can include the correct template in a Content Type, but applying the Content Type does not override the original template used to create the document.

    This makes it almost impossible to manage documents effectively. Each author has their own local Word template. Twenty authors could have 20 different templates, and potentially none of them being compliant.

    SharePoint continues to show the original, local template as being attached, even when that template is on a local PC and not reachable by any user except the original…

  19. Allow admins to set the limit of versions to keep across all documents libraries.

    Allow admins to globally set the number of versions that are kept in each document library. There is no reason for users to keep 500 versions of any document and this is the current default. Would be great to be able to manage that setting and other across all document libraries.

  20. Provide a hit counter app

    Navigating manually through the Popularity trends report just to get the hits is a hassle. Why not introduce an app which will show on-screen how many hits and unique hits. That way, all users can see the trends on-screen right away.
