Allow to find a specific document by exact custom column value
Currently content type with column MyCol used in multiple sites and libraries
does not have a way to find a document by searching MyCol="abc-xyz"[abc-xyz] is treated as equal to [abc xyz] and all documents with similar values are returned in search results rather than exact match
and there are other similar issues seemingly stemming from tokenization4 votes -
People
We could really use a people search webpart or a better overall experience with people search, other than users having to navigate to search.aspx/people in order to actually search for people.
Many companies are asking for this and it makes no sense that people search is "hidden" away like this.1 vote -
Exclude SharePoint site from the search
Please add option on excluding SharePoint site from the search. We set different permissions to limite access to the site. The site still searchable and come up with list of relative content, while this setting doesn't give access to the full content, we would want to have option for the site not being pickup by the search at all.

Please add the ability to search online for the middle or end part of a filename
For a document with the filename "0267F243469.pdf"
Allow searching to find the document with:
filename:F243469.pdf
filename:F243469
filename:F2434Many other online solutions support the ability to search the middle or end part of a filename (not just the beginning or an isolated word) ie: Box, Dropbox, ownCloud, Datto Drive etc. Windows Explorer works fine, just not the online web search.

Please improve the accuracy of SharePoint Online file search feature

Please improve the accuracy of SharePoint Online file search feature
■Description(内容):
Currently the accuracy of SharePoint Online file search feature is low when searching for filenames that include Japanese characters. In addition, the accuracy of the search will not be improved even if the search is performed by specifying double quotation marks or asterisks. Thus, we hope that the feature can be improved when searching for filenames that include Japanese characters.4 votes -
Enable full-text searching within document libraries and folders
Hello there, we would like to ask to build / change the way how is Sharepoint Search center working right now. Currently there arent options how to filter for example specific folder where to search or not. We have just 2 options and thats search in site / organization. This is frustrating, because when you have 14 Sites with tons of data and searching for one little thing in site it will just give you bunch of results that are confusing at the time. Instead of that we would like to search in specific folder / document library. Whether it…

EXPORT METADATA already existing in CSV
We know that metadata can be imported from a CSV file but I am suprised that the inverse action is not possible. I mean export metadata in CSV could be great for save time when we developp a new site.

Search results: Display the folders that the items are in
We often need to know which folder a certain file or folder is in. Right now there is no way to get this except by opening the file/folder which is extremely time-consuming and counterproductive. Folders should optionally be displayed as an extra column, and always displayed as a tooltip over the filename.

Regarding the SharePoint portal screen where user search is done
■Description(内容):
We hope that the "About Me" that is displayed when users are searched using the search bar at the top of the SharePoint Online portal can be changed in the following way. Up until now when users hover the mouse over the "About Me" part that is displayed in "Contacts", "About Me" information for that user will be shown, but this has not been shown ever since 17th of Janurary. We hope to be able to see…8 votes -
Configure modern search results to not show OneDrive Results.
I'dd like the possibility to configure modern search to not show OneDrive results. Best option, in my opinion, is to manage this on three levels: Site, Hub and Tenant wide.
Reason: a lot of my users are afraid their personal files are shared with the organation.
Another good option would be: show the OneDrive results in a visually different box or segment... In the current implementation, it's hard to see the source of the files is OneDrive.

URL encoder "%20" in search results
Until recently, if the results page from SP search was linked, the URL encoder "%20" was replaced with an actual space in the search box. This isn't the case anymore though, making links to search results pointless.

現在の動作として SharePoint 管理センターの検索スキーマの管理にて、集計値列をマッピングすることはできないが、これをできるようにしてほしい。
Currently it is not possible to map aggregated value columns in the search schema management of the SharePoint admin center, thus I hope that this can be made possible.10 votes -

Search management
We think there is a pronounced need to have a way to monitor (also manage) the load on the search crawler or the index. We would like to have:
- a monitorable queue of objects being processed by the search crawl. An admin could manage the search crawl queue thus making sure priority sites, based on business need, are indexed first, regardless of data volume contained in them.
OR
- a way to monitor the health of the search index. Like index statistics in SQL, we need a way to track (potentially also optimize) the load on and status of the site…

The SP2019 on premises Lotus Notes connector references the Lotus C++ API Toolkit which is out of support with HCL (Lotus Notes owner). Please update the Lotus Notes Connector to use the C API and be compatible with versions later than R8 client (which is also outdated). There is significant business use with later versions.

Content Approval = Yes -> Documents no longer show up in Search!!
When Content Approval is activated for a Document Library in Versioning Settings, documents in this library no longer show up in search results. This is very inconvenient because documents that are in a draft, pending or even in an approved state cannot be found with search, both at the library and at site level.
Also, there seems to be a bug: when switching back from -Yes- to -No- in the setting of "Require content approval for submitted items?", the setting "Who should see draft items in this document library?" in "Draft Item Security", continues to allow the option of "Only…3 votes -
Support for single quote characters in search
Search doesn't work (anymore) when searching for items with a single quote.
For example, create a simple generic list. Add an item with It's working in its title.
After the data is crawled try to search for
"It's working"
(double quotes are part of the query, to search exactly for this string).
There's no known escaping syntax.
Such characters should be searchable.

Modern Search - set home site search scope
By default, when you set a site to be a home site, the search scope of the site is set to tenant wide. We don't want that, we want it to be Hub wide. If we run the PnP PowerShell to set the SearchScope back to "2" for Hub, then it gets ignored and the search scope remains as Tenant! Please let us change the search scope of a Home site. Thanks
