Choosing default ranking model in query rule management breaks date sorting
Per this documentation: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sharepoint/search/manage-query-rules
This section: Change ranked search results
This specific action -- choosing an alternate ranking model for the default sort
If you chose to sort by rank, you can optionally:
Select which model to use for ranking search results (this selection is optional). Use the Ranking Model drop-down list.
Issue is: are MSFT search product managers aware that if this sort option is chosen (to default sorting to a specified ranking model), it 'breaks' any other provided sort options on the results page (i.e., date sorting, ascending or descending no longer works -- the picklist option for date sorting is disabled.)
Given the key requirement for date sorting in any search UI, this should not be the case (i.e., users should be able to choose relevancy or date sorting).
This is either an oversight/bug, or an intentional design decision (if latter, not clear why).
Requesting you fix this issue.
