Add IndexedProperties on ListItem level
Currently you can only add indexed properties on Site, Web, List or Folder level - I suggest you to add the same on ListItem level.
Reason:
If you want to enrich items with additional metadata you have to use list columns or content enrichment (not available with SPO or with hybrid cloud search service).
Another option would be to add "normal" columns to the items (and maybe hide them from editview) and rely on the normal indexing - for a large scenario this is simply not possible.Indexing of the propertybag would greatly simplify this.

Allow nested search queries
Search driven applications would be much more powerfull if it is possible to use (properties of) search results to run a new query.
Exampel:
- I have a list where all my favorit project rooms are listed
- I want to offer a search only within my favorit Project site (collections)To do so, the search query needs to pick up my favorit projects from the list and then run a query only against those project sites.
This would allow a lot of "zero-code" search applications within the o365 Standard.

Allow anonymous users to show search results in SharePoint 2019 (on-premises) Modern Search
I have a SharePoint server 2019 (on-premises) Communication site (Modern UI). I have set anonymous access. Anonymous users can view all pages. when I search it does not redirect to the search page. On the other hand, I just have to check the results in a classic search. And the results show up for anonymous users. Please allow anonymous users to show search results.

search breaks ribbon menu
If I use the search at the top of the page the menu ribbon changes for the list as it leaves the page the list is on to display the search results.
This makes the search useless for users as they can't access some of the features they require like Flow.
How can I make the search stay on the same view and keep the ribbon menu working?
I think List Search needs to be revived on all Modern lists & libraries as it is in Classic!

Online modern experience to show specific results from a list
We have a product list. In SP2016 the user could enter a product code into the small search bar and those products would be displayed as a search result on the page. Now, we can’t see the search bar for the list on a modern page. The web part didn’t show the list results. Can we have this search bar added back please as it’s much easier for user experience to find items

Please release a version that does NOT require users to use wildcards
When users search in Sharepoint they have to type in the full word or use an asterisk (*) as a wildcard to search. This is NOT intuitive and this should be fixed so that all searches are "contains" searches. Any model search tool uses this method. Google does. Bing Does. Windows Search does.

Allow us to perform file operations (from the elipsis) from the search results page
Right now you find the file, then you have to manually browse to the file location and hope that there arent a lot of files in the folder where the file resides. There should be a function similar to browse do location.

Avail a true advanced search with extended capabilities
The current SPO advanced search is nothing more than a regular search.
It should include:
- fuzzy search
- extended wildcard support (regex-like)
- proximity search
- typo corrections
- document type search (XLSX, ...)
- case sensitivity options
- author search or filtering ...Thanks !

Add 'hit' highlight like in Delve search
SP search does not have hit highlight like in Delve search (or on this page :) ) For content in libraries and lists in particular it would be nice to at least see number of hits somehow in results returned. But in Organization results it would certainly be valuable.

Enable full-text searching within document libraries and folders
Hello there, we would like to ask to build / change the way how is Sharepoint Search center working right now. Currently there arent options how to filter for example specific folder where to search or not. We have just 2 options and thats search in site / organization. This is frustrating, because when you have 14 Sites with tons of data and searching for one little thing in site it will just give you bunch of results that are confusing at the time. Instead of that we would like to search in specific folder / document library. Whether it…

Configure modern search results to not show OneDrive Results.
I'dd like the possibility to configure modern search to not show OneDrive results. Best option, in my opinion, is to manage this on three levels: Site, Hub and Tenant wide.
Reason: a lot of my users are afraid their personal files are shared with the organation.
Another good option would be: show the OneDrive results in a visually different box or segment... In the current implementation, it's hard to see the source of the files is OneDrive.

The SP2019 on premises Lotus Notes connector references the Lotus C++ API Toolkit which is out of support with HCL (Lotus Notes owner).
The SP2019 on premises Lotus Notes connector references the Lotus C++ API Toolkit which is out of support with HCL (Lotus Notes owner). Please update the Lotus Notes Connector to use the C API and be compatible with versions later than R8 client (which is also outdated). There is significant business use with later versions.

Support for single quote characters in search
Search doesn't work (anymore) when searching for items with a single quote.
For example, create a simple generic list. Add an item with It's working in its title.
After the data is crawled try to search for
"It's working"
(double quotes are part of the query, to search exactly for this string).
There's no known escaping syntax.
Such characters should be searchable.

Modern Search - set home site search scope
By default, when you set a site to be a home site, the search scope of the site is set to tenant wide. We don't want that, we want it to be Hub wide. If we run the PnP PowerShell to set the SearchScope back to "2" for Hub, then it gets ignored and the search scope remains as Tenant! Please let us change the search scope of a Home site. Thanks

Hide folders that have been created in Document Libraries in the search results
When we view modern search results, if we have created folders in Document Libraries to organise the documents, then these folders appear in the search results and normally first. The users do not need to see the folders, they are only used for site owners to organise the documents, so we want the option of being able to hide document library folders from the search results

Show Site Pages thumbnail image in results
When we view results in modern search, the results for Site Pages do not show the thumbnail image. The results show this image for News Posts, Office documents and PDFs, but not Site Pages. I presume this is a bug?!?

A simple People Search/company directory webpart is much needed
It seems that the People webpart already does a simple directory in Edit mode. It would be nice to have a simple employee/company directory that can be added to a modern page.

People Search web part or OOB ability to search people within a specific department
We are trying to provide a way to search profiles within our site collection. When I do a search within the site collection, the People tab doesn't show up by default. I am not sure if that is an OOB way it works or if our global site admins. didn't set up the search how I have seen it work in my last company. Every time I do a search within my site collection, I expect it to show the People tab. To take it one step further, I want to be able to search just the people within our…
