  1. Hide folders that have been created in Document Libraries in the search results

    When we view modern search results, if we have created folders in Document Libraries to organise the documents, then these folders appear in the search results and normally first. The users do not need to see the folders, they are only used for site owners to organise the documents, so we want the option of being able to hide document library folders from the search results

  2. Show Site Pages thumbnail image in results

    When we view results in modern search, the results for Site Pages do not show the thumbnail image. The results show this image for News Posts, Office documents and PDFs, but not Site Pages. I presume this is a bug?!?

  3. A simple People Search/company directory webpart is much needed

    It seems that the People webpart already does a simple directory in Edit mode. It would be nice to have a simple employee/company directory that can be added to a modern page.

  4. People Search web part or OOB ability to search people within a specific department

    We are trying to provide a way to search profiles within our site collection. When I do a search within the site collection, the People tab doesn't show up by default. I am not sure if that is an OOB way it works or if our global site admins. didn't set up the search how I have seen it work in my last company. Every time I do a search within my site collection, I expect it to show the People tab. To take it one step further, I want to be able to search just the people within our…

  5. New Search window does not load

    Moving the Search window to the top of the page means it does not load.
    The scroll bar also does not load.
    You must reload the page to see both.

  8. Unable to search for partial string in Sharepoint

    It seems that it is impossible to search for partial strings in the following case...

    We frequently search phone numbers for the last 7 digits. Those digits could be proceeded by area codes in many different formats.

    Eg.
    We have to search for 555-1212 but file content contains...
    604-555-1212 or
    (604) 555-1212 or
    604 555-1212 or
    (604)555-1212

    Why can we not simply search for something 555-1212 and have all of the results appear? We are currently forced to search for 555 AND 1212 yielding many additional non-related results.

  9. Filter sitewide search results by containig list or library

    It would be very handy for our users to be able to include or exclude certain lists or Librarbies from the organisation-wide search results on modern ui.

  10. Add ability to search for partial matches in titles and descriptions of videos on Microsoft Stream

    ■Title(件名):

    Add ability to search for partial matches in titles and descriptions of videos on Microsoft Stream

    ■Description(内容):
    Microsoft Stream の現在の動画の検索では、タイトル及び詳細に文字制限があるため検索できない部分がある。
    タイトル及び詳細の全文対象に部分一致検索ができると検索できる動画が増えて利便性が高くなるので、全文対象に部分一致検索の機能を拡充をしてほしい。
    The current video search function on Microsoft Stream has a restriction on characters in titles and details that it can search, so there are things which cannot be searched for.
    If the search would return partial matches from the full text of title and details fields then the number of results would be increased and therefore the function would be more convenient, so I would like this function to be improved to…

  11. Document Set in Search Results Opens in Wrong View

    I have separate default views for a modern-experience library and the modern-experience document sets contained in the library, as the library contains folders (document sets) only, and the document sets contain documents only.
    If you open a document set in the library, the view changes automatically to the default view of the document set, as expected.
    If you open a document set via search results, the view remains in the library's folder-based default view, and thus the document set appears to be empty. You then have to change the view to the document set's default view to be able to…

  12. Bug: Searching Library that has Default View with Collapsed Groups

    If the default (modern) view of a library has Group By columns and the groupings are collapsed by default:
    Search results are also collapsed. If you try to expand a group in the search results, the following error scenarios occur:
    * Nothing happens: the group tries to expand ("loading" message), but then remains collapsed. If you try to expand the group again, an error occurs.
    * The group expands, but if you try to adjust the width of a column, the group collapses. If you try to expand the group again, an error occurs.
    * The group expands, but if…

  13. Sticky column headings when searching a list

    When we view a list then scroll down the page, the column headings remain visible at the top of the page - this is really helpful. However, when you search a list and get rows returned, the column headings do not remain visible.

  15. It should be correct results when you search for the title

    There has a lot of issues when we search for files.
    Microsoft has some actions when search crawlers work.
    However, it is a common habit when you search for files with title keywords.
    It doesn't mean you need to depart some words or directories on the title.
    All we want to have is using some words containing on the title to search for files.
    It should be like the following scenario.
    title "abcdefg123"
    search a --> works!
    search b --> works!
    search fg123 --> works!

    This is more user-friendly. I hope it could be modified in the future.

  16. SharePoint items are marked as accessed when displayed via search

    We use the SharePoint search to display news from various team sites. Sadly this leads to all items which are displayed being marked as 'accessed' by the various users.
    This is very confusing to our users as they have not actually accessed the content, but only the preview. Especially as this information is surfaced on the SharePoint Home page (_layouts/15/sharepoint.aspx).

    The Microsoft support claims this is as designed. Though this concept is different from most of the search behaviour out there. Please change this.

  17. The sharePoint search date filters do nothing.

    When selecting the Filter option when searching from your main office.com home page you are presented with multiple options for filtering by date modified. These filters do not change the presented data at this time. This needs to actually update the displayed results if it is going to be included on the page.

  18. Accessing storage location for items displayed in library search results

    *English follows Japanese
    ■Title(件名):
    ライブラリ内検索で、結果として表示されるアイテムの格納場所について
    Accessing storage location for items displayed in library search results

    ■Description(内容):
    現在、ライブラリ内検索でアイテムを検索時、検索結果から該当アイテムの格納場所にアクセスする手段がない。
    ライブラリ内に多数のフォルダーを配置している場合、アイテム結果だけでは格納場所を確認するのに手間がかかる。
    ライブラリ内の検索結果から該当アイテムの格納場所に、簡単にアクセスきる機能の追加を希望します。
    Currently there is no way to access a particular item's storage location from the search results when searching for items in the library.
    If there are lots of folders in the library, lots of time is needed just for checking the storage location of the item.
    Thus we hope a feature to enable easy access to a particular item's storage location from library search results will be implemented.

  20. Search statistics

    We have SharePoint Online and would like to measure our search using some statistics. Can you guys introduce some statistics which can be used to measure search performamce in particular site collection. The usage reports and popularity trends are indeed good for item level but if we want to measure for entire site then there we don't have anything. It would be really helpful if you guys can introduce a site level search health report or a report that would guide us in right direction for having a search with much more hits and relevant data
