Allow immediate (re) indexing for specific items
Within search driven applications, actual values of columns within items are critical for users. Imagine a task, shown search driven in my open tasks. If user completes the task on the list, user will expect, that this tasks are not shown in the above mentioned my open tasks.
Therefore allow immediate (re) indexing for specific items (like tasks) - possibly configurable. This actually was possible with SP2010 server side code.

Library Search Results - Quick Edit Option
When viewing search results from a Document Library Search, the Quick Edit option is not an available feature. It would be great if this option was available.

Export Search Results to CSV/Excel
To the Microsoft Team: Thanks for keeping up the good work while listening thru the "user voice"!
If you have to believe this, there have been at least 10 of my customers who have requested an "EXPORT to CSV" feature on the People Results page. I have seen a lot of other products having the export functionality, and would love to see this added in the SharePoint Online platform.

Crawl Document Properties for DLP
The following image contains a use case that I have provided MS support for a design change request.
The ultimate issue here is that SharePoint Online search does NOT crawl document level properties. Therefore, DLP cannot use these properties to help protect that document from leaking since DLP is reliant on the search index.
The workaround I have been given is to create a column in the document library where the file is stored; this allows the custom document property to populate the list column in the library upon upload. The challenge with this approach is that this column…

Show people results in site search results
In modern search, if you have a site's search scope configured to be "Site", the result page does not include people and the people vertical is missing from the results.
/_layouts/15/search.aspx/siteall?q=<queryterm>
Would be great to have the option to show people results within the search, as well as in the instant type-ahead search.

Mapping administration properties

管理プロパティのマッピングについて
Mapping administration properties
■Description(内容):
現在の動作として SharePoint 管理センターの検索スキーマの管理にて、集計値列をマッピングすることはできないが、これをできるようにしてほしい。
Currently it is not possible to map aggregated value columns in the search schema management of the SharePoint admin center, thus I hope that this can be made possible.10 votes -
Have SharePoint search update comment and like count after increments
SharePoint search currently does not re-crawl content when a like (LikeCount) or comment/reply (CommentCount) is added to a modern page. This means that when many people comment on a page, the search API will not show the updated number -- even after weeks, unless the page is republished or the site is manually re-crawled.
SharePoint search should likely flag the page as dirty for the crawler to re-crawl the updated values so we can leverage these in SharePoint search results.

I want to exclude a specific user from the search target in "user search" of SharePoint Online
I would like to create a new account for new hires to join, but I would like to prohibit searching for pre-joining users in order to manage confidential information.

"Name" Column visible in Library settings
Currently there is no way to have the "Name" column visible in library settings. It would be nice if we can do changes and add the "Name" column in sharepoint library settings to have easy access.

Modern PeopleSearch Results
When using the wildcard (*) on Modern PeopleSearch results the mouse cursor is not changed to a vingerpointer when hoovering over the name or picture of a user. The item is clickable but the because the mouse cursor does not change it is confusing for users. Please update the result page so that the mouse cursor is changed.

Open file location in modern search
Sharepoint search desperately needs the equivalents of Windows' "Open file location". It's fantastic that sharepoint search shows the path of files found in Sites, but sometimes I want to see the folder the file is in, not the file itself. Surely an easy thing to implement?
Thanks

If you click the site link, you’ll be taken to the folder that the file is in on that site.

Show (also) email attachments in SharePoint people search (like in Delve)
Our colleagues are used to work with SharePoint Search and do not want to use antother app for this purpose. Unfortunately people search in SharePoint doesn't bring up any Email attachments but only files stored in SharePoint or shared within OneDrive. I really hope that this is going to be changed soon...

Remove pagination in search results
why limit search results and break them down into pages? You cannot quickly access pages with a higher number, nor do you know how many search results there are - giving you no indication whatsoever of the amount of pages I might have to trawl through.
Pagination in people search results is especially frustrating.

Verb Stemming When Searching Sharepoint Sites
When searching a Sharepoint site, you currently must use the exact verb form used in the page you are looking for or the page will not appear in your search results. For example, if you search "Turning off x" by the article is titled "Turn off x", you will not see the article "Turn off x" in your search results.
Stemming the verb in the search would allow less precise searches to still return the expected results; a user seeking help would not think to search for the exact verb form used in a help article they have not found…

Searches should find exact matches to file name
Recently I've done an exact search by title to the file name (with and without the extension) and it's not found. It finds other documents and information from the parent site. Often they are not a good match and may only contain a small part of the search term. For instance, if I look for "alphabet soup" or "alphabet soup.doc" which exists on the sub-site where I'm searching, it finds "soup to nuts" and "learning the alphabet" on the parent site and other sub-sites, but not the document that has an exact match in the title.

Customizing new search boxes
I have some comments on search boxes on the left side of the screen viewed after clicking "SharePoint" from app launcher.
I can find with ease on which sites searched items are shown, but I can't customize the "items on some specified sites” and so on just like I used to do for classic search boxes.
I am able to customize classic search boxes, but I have a difficulty in looking for the items and I can't find the sites for items.
I request that I am able to make a search of items I look for by narrowing them…9 votesthinking about it ·AdminSharePoint UserVoice Admin (SharePoint UserVoice Admin, Microsoft SharePoint) responded

Make the Search scopes appear in the Search Box of the new Experience design
In the new Experience UI, the search box with the scopes selector, in the top right-hand corner, disappeared.
The new search box on the left hand side should provide, at least, the same UX.
Users get lost...
