  1. Add a search driven column type

    It would be great to have a column type for lists or libraries that stores a search-query.
    In column settings you would create a query with a reference to the list-item (something like "author:{Item.Author} AND ContentType:Tasks").
    This way you could dynamically link content to a list item.

    When items that have specific target users set on them are added to search navigation, those items will be displayed to all users instead of just the target user, so we request improvement of the feature to display those items only to the specified target users.

  4. OneDrive Search should ONLY include OneDrive results by default

    PLEASE limit OneDrive Search results to only show OneDrive content when searching from OneDrive. There can be an option to expand search results further, but we want the default results to be the person's OneDrive that they are searching from.

  5. Sort Blog Search Results by Modified Date

    In WSS 3.0 (SharePoint 2007), when we searched a blog, it gave us the option to sort results by Relevance (the default) or by Modified Date. Now in SharePoint Online, when you search a blog, it gives you no sort options, but seems to list the search results in random order. This is a step backwards in my opinion. We need to be able to sort by Modified Date again.

  7. Pls add paging to the highlighted content webpart (hcwp)

    We are about to build a search-driven Intranet with Communication Sites. Today we found out that there is a limit to the items shown in a hcwp, but we need it to be able to show all results found. A user must be able to "scroll" oder "page" through all content found by a managed property filter used in the hcwp. A hard cap limit to the results shown will break a search driven intranet, when content found can´t be viewed by the user because of a "view limit".

  8. Populate "Recent Views in last x Months" -properties in SharePoint Search

    I recently noticed, that SharePoint Search has very handy managed properties, that list view counts over last few days, weeks and months. Quite a few of these work - but "Recent Views in last x Months" (1, 2 or 3 months) does not. They simply return null (not even 0).

    I confirmed this with Microsoft Support (#30126-6369865), and they confirmed it's broken. It's reported to engineering, but according to support it will not be fixed unless people on UserVoice seem to deem this fix as necessary.

    This sounds like a weird method for bugfixing.. But in any case, I'd really…

  9. Content a user has access to in SharePoint Online via a Office 365 Group is security trimmed from Search

    When sharing content in SharePoint Online, the sharing interface allows a user to type the name of an Office 365 Group. SharePoint Online content that is shared in this manner will not appear in SharePoint Search results to the members of the Office 365 Group. This doesn't provide a consistent experience for users, as many users may not be aware what entries are Office 365 Groups, Azure Active Directory security groups, etc. We'd like to see content shared to the members of an Office 365 group in this manner appear in the search results for those users.

  12. Regarding Modern UI search settings

    モダンUIの検索の設定について
    Regarding Modern UI search settings

    ■Description(内容):
    クラシック UI のサイトのページであれば、検索結果のクエリを編集して特定のリストやライブラリを除外することができるが、モダン UI の検索結果は編集ができない。
    モダン UI の検索結果にて、特定のリストを表示しないようにする機能を希望します。
    Search queries can be edited and specific lists and libraries can be removed for Classic UI site pages, but Modern UI search results cannot be edited.
    Thus I hope that a feature can be implemented to hide specific lists for Modern UI search results.

  13. Regarding the search results sort order for lists in Sharepoint app

    *English follows Japanese

    ■Title(件名):
    SharePoint アプリでのリストの検索結果の並び順について
    Regarding the search results sort order for lists in Sharepoint app

    ■Description(内容):
    リストで検索した場合、PC やモバイル端末のブラウザーでは、[リストの設定] から既定のビューの編集画面で [並べ替え] で指定した並び順にもとづいて検索結果が表示される。
    しかしながら、SharePoint アプリの場合、検索結果に該当するアイテムが、初期の設定である ID 順で表示される動作となる。
    この点について、PC などと表示順が異なるとアイテムの確認に手間がかかるため、PC などの動作と同様に、指定した並び順にもとづいて検索結果を表示させることができるようにしてほしい。
    When searching using a list, the search results are shown accordingly to what has been set in the Sort option in the List Settings for browsers on the PC and mobile devices.
    However for the Sharepoint app, search results are shown according to the default setting, which is ID.
    This ends up in using up time to check what results have been returned as the order is different from what…

  14. Display the name of the site you are searching within

    When searching within a site sometimes people get confused by the verbiage "Search this site" and make the improper assumption that it is searching against everything. A simple and subtle change that could reduce confusion is if you include the name of the site in the search box. For example, "Search within the <Site Name> site".

  15. Make Modern Search API Available

    We are finding many difficulties where custom code needs to roll up search results in a similar way to the OOTB modern search experience.

    Unfortunately it appears impossible to return the same results/order via /api/search/query through traditional means than that of the Modern Search Results page. Upon investigation this is due to a special request property which appears to be around personalization (DynamicContextLists, which is sent as part of the search request when on a OOTB Modern Search Page such as /layouts/15/search.aspx)

    Without this we cannot provide a proper flow from a custom search webpart/extension, into the OOTB…

  17. Provide feedback on Search Results

    Enable some mechanism that allows a consumer to provide feedback on the results they get in search (e.g. not getting expected results or feedback tied directly to a specific content item). General feedback would be routed to one place while content item level feedback would be automatically routed to the assigned author.

  20. Need sorting and more filter options for searching for files in "all of sharepoint"

    Need to be able to sort and refine search results. For example, sometimes what I'm looking for was recently modified and it's currently on page 5 of the search results. If I could optionally sort by last modified date then it would be on the first page. It would also be nice to be able to refine the search like to limit results with a date range or a specific folder structure.

    Thanks for your feedback! Did you try setting the time filter to Past 24 hours or Past week? (If the filter pane isn’t open, click the Filters link, right under the search icon). We’re considering more date options, such as a date range.
    When you write that you’d like to search within a specific folder structure, have you noticed that if we find matches to your query in several files that are located in the same folder, then we show the results grouped together “under” that folder (click to go to folder). Would that be of any help to the folder search you’re thinking of, or do you prefer to actively limit the scope of your search to only a folder?
