  2. .DWG

Allow to add custom file extension type like .DWG etc. so that search results could be able to link to actual file like .pdf etc.

  4. Show search results for pages under Websites (or pages) not under files in Modern SharePoint Search

When users search for pages in modern search (via SharePoint Home or on Communication/Team Site) they will find pages under files. Most users don't know that SharePoint pages are actually .aspx files. Files for them are Office documents, PDFs or pictures, but NOT pages.

Please make it easier for users to distinguish those content types. A possible solution could be to include pages in the websites results (for users sites are sites, not site collections and pages). You could als provide a filter under websites results for site collections and pages.

  5. Pls add paging to the highlighted content webpart (hcwp)

We are about to build a search-driven Intranet with Communication Sites. Today we found out that there is a limit to the items shown in a hcwp, but we need it to be able to show all results found. A user must be able to "scroll" oder "page" through all content found by a managed property filter used in the hcwp. A hard cap limit to the results shown will break a search driven intranet, when content found can´t be viewed by the user because of a "view limit".

  6. Populate "Recent Views in last x Months" -properties in SharePoint Search

I recently noticed, that SharePoint Search has very handy managed properties, that list view counts over last few days, weeks and months. Quite a few of these work - but "Recent Views in last x Months" (1, 2 or 3 months) does not. They simply return null (not even 0).

I confirmed this with Microsoft Support (#30126-6369865), and they confirmed it's broken. It's reported to engineering, but according to support it will not be fixed unless people on UserVoice seem to deem this fix as necessary.

This sounds like a weird method for bugfixing.. But in any case, I'd really…

  7. Content a user has access to in SharePoint Online via a Office 365 Group is security trimmed from Search

When sharing content in SharePoint Online, the sharing interface allows a user to type the name of an Office 365 Group. SharePoint Online content that is shared in this manner will not appear in SharePoint Search results to the members of the Office 365 Group. This doesn't provide a consistent experience for users, as many users may not be aware what entries are Office 365 Groups, Azure Active Directory security groups, etc. We'd like to see content shared to the members of an Office 365 group in this manner appear in the search results for those users.

  10. Usage report obtained from Popularity Trends link generates incorrect statistics

The spreadsheet generated from the usage report link under Popularity Trends generates incorrect statistics for unique users in the section that is aggregated for monthly statistics. The spreadsheet appears to sum up the unique users for each day in the month, rather than calculating the unique users across the entire month. This will tend to greatly exaggerate the unique users per month.

  11. Regarding Modern UI search settings

    *English follows Japanese
    ■Title(件名):
    モダンUIの検索の設定について
    Regarding Modern UI search settings

    ■Description(内容):
    クラシック UI のサイトのページであれば、検索結果のクエリを編集して特定のリストやライブラリを除外することができるが、モダン UI の検索結果は編集ができない。
    モダン UI の検索結果にて、特定のリストを表示しないようにする機能を希望します。
Search queries can be edited and specific lists and libraries can be removed for Classic UI site pages, but Modern UI search results cannot be edited.
Thus I hope that a feature can be implemented to hide specific lists for Modern UI search results.

  12. connect the modern search box on the page to pnp webpart search page

we have a requirement to use search refiners the way it used to work in classic search. pnp modern search webpart provides that option. There should be a way to link the search box on the top of the modern site to link to the pnp webpart page. Right now the way modern search box works, it does not allow to link the search or redirect search to pnp webpart page

  13. Display the name of the site you are searching within

When searching within a site sometimes people get confused by the verbiage "Search this site" and make the improper assumption that it is searching against everything. A simple and subtle change that could reduce confusion is if you include the name of the site in the search box. For example, "Search within the <Site Name> site".

  14. Custom modern search result filters

In modern search result page, you can only filter by "last modified time" or "file type".
It will be nice to more automatic filters/refiners like in classic mode. It will be also helpful if you can create custom filters.

  15. Enhance the search filtering options and customisations

The Modern UI search results page is missing filtering options available in "Classic" mode. In addition, there is no way to add custom filtering options, which is also available in "Classic".

The default "Classic" filtering options allow users to filter upon author, modified date and result type, with the possibility to add other "default" columns to the filtering options. Only modified date is available in the Modern UI (File type is also available for files).

"Classic" mode provides the ability to add filtering options, based upon custom columns. The Modern UI does not provide the ability to add custom columns…

  16. Need sorting and more filter options for searching for files in "all of sharepoint"

Need to be able to sort and refine search results. For example, sometimes what I'm looking for was recently modified and it's currently on page 5 of the search results. If I could optionally sort by last modified date then it would be on the first page. It would also be nice to be able to refine the search like to limit results with a date range or a specific folder structure.

Thanks for your feedback! Did you try setting the time filter to Past 24 hours or Past week? (If the filter pane isn’t open, click the Filters link, right under the search icon). We’re considering more date options, such as a date range.
When you write that you’d like to search within a specific folder structure, have you noticed that if we find matches to your query in several files that are located in the same folder, then we show the results grouped together “under” that folder (click to go to folder). Would that be of any help to the folder search you’re thinking of, or do you prefer to actively limit the scope of your search to only a folder?

  17. Enable adding the filtering option arbitrary to the search result in SharePoint Online.

Enable adding the filtering option arbitrary to the search result in SharePoint Online.

    SharePoint Online における検索結果ページについて、絞込み条件に任意の条件を追加可能な機能の提供を要望します。

For the search result page of SharePoint Online, I hope the feature will provide the availability that allows you to create and add the filtering option arbitrary in order to improve the usability.

    Thank you for your consideration.

  18. If the content of the file cannot be indexed, the file still should be findable using its metadata (eg site columns)

In specific cases the crawling cannot crawl the contents of a file (eg specific pdfs while they open fine in PDF readers). Current behavior in SPO and in HCSSA is that such files are not indexed at all; not even by its metadata outside the file (such as title, columns). My suggestion is that in case files cannot be indexed on its contents, it still gets indexed based on its metadata.

  19. Fix KQL for instances when a property value includes a hyphen

If the property value contains a hyphen (-) together with the
property operator equals (=) or not-equals (<>), then the
query will not work due a bug in SharePoint
    search.

As a workaround, we can use use contains (:) instead when we
have a value with a hyphen. However, this can lead to unexpected results.

Here's an example. The goal is to search for people where "Department" is "Ex-employee". If we use Department="Ex-employee", the filtering is incorrect, and returns all people. We can use Department:"Ex-employee", but this would also return values like "Ex-employee Relations".

Note: This is a search topic,…

  20. Word Extraction on SharePoint Online

It would be very beneficial, to be able to use word extraction in SharePoint Online, i.e. be able to supply your own custom dictionary, used to extract certain words from search for use in e.g. refiners.
