In a globally matrixed company, listening to everything renders the app useless. We need to be able to filter out the noise so that we can decide to read news from from my corporate, my world area, my functional leaders, my product managers, other business's relevant product managers, etc.

We also need this for our Corporate Communications. User should be able to filter News and, additionally, we need a possibility to mark special News that everybody has to see (HR topics, Corona...)

When several "Organisational News" sites are defined in the hub, news from all these sites are aggregated under just one common heading in the app's filter section (Organizational News). Reality is that news form these sources do not bear the same weight, significance, meaning and importance. It would therefore be beneficial to allow the end-user to better differentiate between content from these diverse sources and thereby more quickly get to the news of the type he/she is looking for. One way to do this could be to allow several individual "Organizational news" filter options to be configured in the filter sections (e.g. by SP admins). Another could be to allow colour coding to be configured for for "Org News" banners. It could also be an idea allow admins - or perhaps the individual user? - define which of the three tabs at the bottom he/she wants to have as the default starting tab?...I can probably think of more, but so can you, I am sure...

It is crucial for the communications team to make the existing filter "Organization news" more relevant in the news feed. We want to be able to change the name of the filter to "LEGO news", put it as a first option on the filter menu and set it as a default mode. The app represents a milestone for the company's internal communications and we want to facilitate consumption of the most relevant news on the go and keep them engaged, instead of overwhelming users with all types of updates from other pages.

It would be helpful to change the configuration of the News filter function of the SharePoint App to allow me to choose the news feed I see and reduce the number of articles shown. To choose and filter my preferences would streamline this function and make it more useable.

We definitely need this, and we also need to be able to affect the naming of those filters to ensure the proper context-setting for the end-user...

It is very much needed functionality to enable users to apply filters on news. By Default "All news" bring everything and there needs to be feature to limit some news.

So we need to Change the "Organisation news" filter to "LEGO News" and set it as default - and we need to be able to build other filters as Giovanna is mentioning - in order to make the App as relevant to our users and to the LEGO organisations need to promote Direction setting - Brand related News Articles. :)

I'm facing the same challenge here. Default mode is 'All News' and that's just too polluted.
If we could edit the filters according to our needs (create more filters, delete others, edit hierarchy), users would have a better, customized experience too.
