External users should be allowed access to SharePoint sites in the SharePoint mobile app. They should be also able to follow that site to get the news published on that site.

Microsoft started going down hill with almost every decision about 2 years ago...what a shame. Must have some bad decision makers in leadership positions.

External users should be allowed access to SharePoint sites in the SharePoint mobile app that licensed users have created.

Can someone tell me whether external access via the iPhone is also an issue for external users?

Absolutely a must! Allowing external users to access SP content but not the SP App makes no sense. Sharing externally is such a great feature of SP - but this is definitely a limitation......

We operate in a multi-tenant environment and many employees are guests in the other tenants. With the Teams mobile app it is so easy to switch between tenants using the same account. Why not the SharePoint app? We can't really promote the app within our group of companies for this reason. MS needs to address this urgently.

This limitation seems to be across all Office apps on the mobile and we see more and more of issues caused by this when end users can't edit office documents which are shared to them across tenants if different teams.

Cannot understand why the same Sharepoint online resource could be accessed by a guest account in a browser but not through Sharepoint app. World is and gets more mobile day by day....Microsoft will lose significant market share by not offering proper mobile solutions...

We have the same issue using MS Planner from Teams. The teams app supports guests but as soon as you try and use a team planner it invokes the Planner App and then you can only access your “home” server.

This is the close that Microsoft have come to acknowledging their is an issue or problem to be solved - marking this post as "Thinking about it"... How about an update from Microsoft to say why it isn't possible, and if they are going to implement it or now!

Yes please; it's a necessity. Our company got acquired last year and both we and our parent company has Office 365. Our developers can't develop/test SP Online sites for the parent company on mobile phones through the SharePoint app, as we only see sites in our own tenant and not in their tenant.

Our school governors (who have external emails) can access their SP portal online, but not using the app. It is impacting the uptake of SP as most people prefer using apps over browser. Please give this idea a serious consideration. Tehnically I can't see why it should be difficult; is there another reason this is not being worked upon?

We have shared documents and calendar events with external users and it would be a huge benefit to use a Sharepoint app rather than a web browser.

Same here! External User can't use the android app. 95% of my business is strickley is with volunteers and they can't use the app because they need to be "licensed" user in order to use the app. There is no way we are going to give o365 licenses to volunteers. They are not employees of the organization and don't need to be.

Why create an app for SharePoint access, but not allow external guests/users to access it?

Weird that the allow online, but not in app. Need this ASAP. Just hit a wall with volunteers.
