Have Different SharePoint 2013/2016 Certification Paths!!!
No offense.. but your SharePoint Certification Path suck!! You need to have SharePoint certifications that will actually help someone who uses SharePoint 2013/2016 daily!!! In a large corporation the "PowerUser" or JSOM developer is not going to set up Server Farms. You need SharePoint Certs for SUPER POWER USERS, POWER USERS the do "some" programming on the front end etc... your current SharePoint Certs are a waste of time and would not do the average office worker any good. You need a cert that would show teach things like how to use HighCharts with SharePoint, how to use SP Services, how to use REST, Web Services, CSOM, JSOM, and how to use Offiice 365 products for real life things you do with SharePoint. You just need some different options aimed more toward the everyday SCA type of user who may program some custom apps. You put too much emphasis on SharePoint Server admin. In a corp the office user will not be using PowerShell to set up Site Collections, but they would have to know how to use HighCharts to display a SharePoint data etc..
The "SharePoint" certifications are really to produce systems administrators, not SharePoint administrators. Where I work, I am a combination SharePoint admin and developer. I come fro a software developer background. I don't stand up VM's or servers or configure, manage or patch them, but I do set up, patch and configure SharePoint farms. A requirement to be a certified MSCA first is bull crap. We have separation of responsibilities here and I have the support of the sys admins when needed, but they do not have my SharePoint knowledge, and I don't have all of their server/networking experience and expertise. Plus, I don't have the permissions to do on the servers everything that they do, nor do I need it. Microsoft does not own and micromanage the entire IT world and should not decide for everyone that they must have a specific background to do SharePoint or to get the certification. The MSCE:SharePoint exam, from the descriptions I have read contain no SharePoint knowledge at all. This is a fraud.
MS certifications were never meant for real life; they are meant to sell inadequate training and pay for certifcations exams. Recents studies show that corporations are not asking for them anymore in resume. Dont waste your time passing useless certification.
Are you referring to certifications or training? We partner with multiple training providers around the world to offer the breadth of training required for all of the various different types of SharePoint users. If you look at some of these partners you will find what you are looking for I am sure.
Spot on. I am really disappointed with the direction is going with certified professionals recently. And with all the cloud stuff they are basically saying thanks for all thw work making sharepoint successful. Now f**k you.
