Skype Messaging from Workflows
In a SharePoint workflow you have the ability to send an e-mail message. My company has Skype for Business, and we want to utilize it more, so it would be great if a workflow could check a person's online status and if they were available, send a Skype message instead of an e-mail message. If the person is busy or not available, a traditional e-mail could be sent instead.
A simple example of how this could be used would be for a visitor log. Once a visitor is entered into a list, which would include the employee the visitor is there to see, the workflow would kick off. If the employee is available, a Skype message could instantly be sent telling them they have a visitor, with the fallback of the message going to e-mail if they're not available.
Although, some of the new features coming to Skype would mean you wouldn't even need to send the e-mail.
