We aren’t currently working on adding recurring events support to the Events web part. As a number of commentors have suggested, Group calendars do a great job with recurring events and are a great way to show them on your modern pages.

Why so many webparts are missing basic functionality? I guess the urgency to have a web part "out there" trumps everything else!
Modern sites is a half-assed product at best -

Thanks for making this suggestion. We don’t currently have plans to implement this, but would love to better understand the scenarios and need.
Do you expect that people are deleting pages, or changing pages/content names frequently enough that they’re breaking other pages/content without knowing it?
Is the site owner responsible for fixing that content or the authors/editors moving the content around?Pablo supported this idea ·

Robert: Can you list the SR? I would like to bring this to the MS support agent dealing with this issue.

MS keeps saying this has been "implemented as designed", instead of admitting this is a bug. This is not the functionality present in libraries - only in the half-cooked "modern" ones, and only after mid-June, 2017. Previously, "modern" libraries used to show only the terms present in the documents included in the library.

A consolidated admin view of where published content types are being used is still being evaluated, but for folks voting for the related use case of “better creation and management of content types” please refer to site designs (aka.ms/spsitedesigns) as a modern mechanism to create/apply content types to site libraries. We are also looking at how this could be more easily supported from hub sites.

What about communication sites? Those are seen by many people in the organization, and there are several events that are recurring.
If we want to add a calendar that supports recurring events we then need to create a group *per calendar* (as the calendar web part does not support multiple calendars).
