Is there some way to control the home page of SharePoint.

I follow my projects and want to see them front and center in the same order. Right now SharePoint gives News sites, Frequent site and Suggested sites. I want to have my home page show my followed sites first. I don't really care about the other sites when looking to access my project data. Even the News from sites neve r goes away once . The only way it stops appearing is when the author to remove the post I want to be able to delete these from my view once I have read them

If I open the Following site tab on the right i see the sites I am following however SharePoint always list the projects in some random order. I want this to be consistent, or even changeable at my discretion.. eg. Alphabetical, last date ..

The way it is set up now really make it confusing and a waste of my time searching though and unorganized list.
