Quick update on this suggestion. We are still working on this with MS Teams. We don’t have an ETA to share still.

This is a vital part of adopting SharePoint and moving off our local file server. When we start a new project we add a channel for the project in Teams. When the scope of the project evolves we often rename the Teams Channel. But this orphans the SharePoint folder and leaves it with the old channel name which is confusing for users.
