Thanks for the suggestion. While this can accomplished via PnP Powershell today, we understand the desire to have a way to do it in the UX. We’ll add it to our backlog.

Please allow an option to add images or icons to the links in footer and left navigation. For example, I would like to have links to our organization social media accounts in the footer on our hub site and users expect to see social media icons, not just text.

Absolutely necessary. Inability of making Tile Layout a default layout when tileProps is used in View Formatting makes this formatted view more or less useless. And I think not any but all 3 modifications suggested in this request should be implemented to successfully and effectively use any View Formatting which requires Tile Layout.
