Thanks for the suggestion. While this can accomplished via PnP Powershell today, we understand the desire to have a way to do it in the UX. We’ll add it to our backlog.

We are continuing to validate this long-awaited feature in a Private Preview Program with a subset of customers. Although feedback has been very positive we have identified a few things that we still need to address before we start making this more generally available. We appreciate that this is taking time, however providing a consistent user experience across M365 that continues to function as expected is a complex problem. We will provide another update within the next few months.

Thanks for posting the update - I hadn't meant my comment to sound like I was criticising you. I was (and still am!) exasperated by Microsoft's tardiness and the paucity of what they are proposing to implement. An error occurred while saving the comment R Webb commented

Changing the URLs of Site Collections in NOT what was being asked for!!!
I work for ABC Co. Our O365 tenancy is ABC.sharepoint.com We have been re-branded to XYZ Co. I need to be able to change the TENANCY to XYZ.sharepoint.com
This should not still be on the "I suggest you..." list after three years.

Chris, but Microsoft haven't said when this will be fixed nor have they said what exactly the fix will do. So, in my book, they haven't given us any useful information.

Although you cannot give an estimated delivery date you surely must be able to give us a broad indication of timescale. Are you talking six months, 12 months, longer...?

When is this *essential* requirement happening?
Why so little feedback from Microsoft?

Thank you for your input. Although we are are continuing to improve our documentation, we are also investigating the options for enabling this. However, there is unfortunately nothing on the immediate road map.

Thanks for your suggestions. We agree this can be a little restrictive and we’re going to look into it.

Thanks for your suggestion. We’re evaluating technical options for this feature. No guarantees or timelines just yet – but this is something we think would be very useful.

Microsoft know this is a serious requirement. There is no need for people to keep explaining why this is such an important and fundamental feature.
The question should be: "Why is Microsoft ignoring this?"
