As far as I know, this is already possible. We do it to create each Project Site, enabling us to preserve our Content Types, Columns order, View, and Filters.

    Our problem, as well:

"Issue with the limit on SharePoint storage at 1 TB, we were able to increase our OneDrive storage to 5 TB as a possible other solution. We don't to add licenses or pay the extra cost per gb (0,17€/GB x month... insane!!!). The 17 cents cost I mentioned in referring to the Office 365 Extra File Storage add-on as mentioned here: Add storage space for your subscription. The main issue appears to be the total storage for organization which is set at 1TB and appears to only increase by number of licenses we have as shown here: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/office365/servicedescriptions/sharepoint-online-service-description/sharepoint-online-limits. This is not an option for our organization to purchase more licenses.

The use of the currently purchased 5TB of OneDrive is not an alternative to the lack of suitable Sharepoint Storage in our Organization.

Imagine your organization, with an E3 Plan (19,70€/month) needs 5TB in Sharepoint. Considering the Add-on, considering the 0.17€/GB and month, the additional 4GB would mean 680€/month.
For some reason seems that Microsoft doesn’t want to foster Sharepoint for small and medium enterprises. Am I wrong assuming that?

The idea of reaching those 5TB adding licenses would mean:

    4000GB (4TB) required
10GB per additional license => 400 additional licenses
    400 x 10,50€/h (M365 Business Standard) = 4200€/month

I wonder companies <400 licenses are considered Small?

We really need a Documentanagement System service connected to our Tenant and Microsoft 365 environment.

This unfortunage circumstance will force us to explore additional services, such as DMS which connect to Sharepoint but provide the Storage.

This is very sad, since we have just upgraded our producto to E3 to increase the storage that we won't be able to use in Sharepoint.

So, we'll have to co sider the downgrading again to Business Standard.
