We are continuing to validate this long-awaited feature in a Private Preview Program with a subset of customers. Although feedback has been very positive we have identified a few things that we still need to address before we start making this more generally available. We appreciate that this is taking time, however providing a consistent user experience across M365 that continues to function as expected is a complex problem. We will provide another update within the next few months.

In our family of companies the one I used for O365/Sharepoint just closed. Now I'm stuck with the costly time consuming process with the only benefit a name change. We've now passed the year mark since this was promised. Microsoft can do better, from a business perspective this is more important than any particular feature. Please update us.

This is so vital, and even if technically challenging, should have been addressed already. That it's been nearly six months since the working on it status, it's so frustrating. It's delaying our office migration.

Our company is considering a move from GSuite but this is a big sticking point. There are multiple companies involved and we need this flexibility.

This is a very practical issue. There are a number of reasons that a different name can be mandatory. At the very least, it should be made abundantly clear at the step of creating the domain in set up how important the decision is. There are situations where the name really needs to be changed but a migration just isn't feasible due to cost and complexity. Even better than a tenant wide change, would be the ability to have the site/onedrive url reflect multiple domains within the company. So users with a company1.com email address would see that domain in onedrive and users with company2.com would see theirs. But I'll take being able to change the name across the board.

Just really getting in to testing SharePoint for our company, and am shocked to see that test sites I deleted still show up on the page a person sees when they click on SharePoint from the waffle. Deleted sites should stay in the recycle bin, but immediately taken off of every frequent or recent list. They shouldn't show up in search results either.
