We aren’t currently working on adding recurring events support to the Events web part. As a number of commentors have suggested, Group calendars do a great job with recurring events and are a great way to show them on your modern pages.

It's embarrassing to me that I recommended my customer use SP rather than the other option available to them and now they can't display an event for a multi-day training. It's really not acceptable that the webpart doesn't support this, or that they have to create a new event from scratch each time they offer the course.
