Splitting out content by format is not how libraries should work to the end user's benefit. It's like splitting a physical library of books into hard-back books, soft-back books, and books that contain an optical disk; people trying to find all the books about X would have to (a) know to look in three places and (b) go to each shelf separately to discover what is there.

Having a single place for content about a subject is hugely beneficial, and means people only have one place to go to find or add the information.

I know there are convoluted workarounds to this - the highlighted content web part can bring a list, site pages, and document library together on one page (though users can't then filter that content unless we install a custom search webpart into the tenant). And you could have links at the top of the page to 'Add a page | Add a document | Add an external resource', however from an admin and end users perspective it's all extremely difficult and highly unintuitive.

We have started modernizing the search results page a few years ago. It is available on every site under this URL: /_layouts/15/search.aspx/siteall?q=myquery. Also the new search box placed in the suite header has started rolling out to modern experiences, and will be available broadly by end of June. We will be making it available to classic sites later this year as well. Some customers redirect their classic search boxes to the modern results page already.

The modern search experience is a part of the overall Microsoft Search experiences. See more details in this post: https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/Microsoft-Search-Blog/Welcome-to-Microsoft-Search-intelligent-search-for-the-modern/ba-p/531156. We will be bringing additional improvements to it later in 2019, and early 2020 as well including custom refiners, verticals, result types with modern display templates, as well as custom pages that can use modern web parts.

Not just news articles, but also site pages should be able to be tagged with custom and managed metadata columns...

Thank you for bringing this suggestion to our attention. While the SharePoint migration investments have been focused on helping the on-prem customer transition to OneDrive and SharePoint in Office 365 using the SharePoint migration tool, we acknowledge that there are additional scenarios like the ones explained in this suggestion that are not covered yet. We are currently considering various options to solve those scenarios, but we cannot commit to anything at this point. Please continue bringing great suggestions to our attention like this one.

The inability to rename a site in Sharepoint Online has forced us to have a date-based naming convention. On the one hand it resolves the issue of not having to migrate sites when their names inevitably change; on the other it makes finding a site to save a file to an impossible task. The ability to easily migrate SPO -> SPO would resolve this issue and allow us to give our sites human-readable names.

We know wikis are critical to sharing knowledge within your organization! We’ve been slowly building capabilities to share information more easily with our focus on modern pages and web parts. And with that work, we’ve been adding some of the capabilities we hear you want when people refer to wikis (easily add links to other pages or content, add metadata to each page to help people find and categorize it, roll-up content based on that metadata to show groupings of like content, etc.) But we know this isn’t all that’s required to have a great wiki. Many people also want wiki linking syntax e.g. [[]], we don’t yet support that, but we do support ctrl/command + K from the text web part to search and find pages on your site. We’ll be working on adding wiki syntax shortly. We know you also need easy roll-up pages, maybe an index page,…

Thanks for your feedback! Just a note to let you know that we’re building your suggestion now. We plan to increase availability to this feature throughout 2019.

Corporate lifecycle is a real and constant pressure in business, often resulting in a need to rename the Office 365 Tenant. To that end we are working on the solution to change the SharePoint domain URL (contoso.sharepoint.com renamed to fabrikam.sharepoint.com). This capability will also then enable the renaming of an individual site collection (contoso.sharepoint.com/sites/abc to contoso.sharepoint.com/sites/xyz).

While we don’t have an estimated delivery date to share at this time, we’ll update your suggestion with details as they become available.

I like the new ability to select a file, then 'copy link'. It would be great if this included the document name with embedded link as an option to copy and paste. Anonymous is right; the current method for copying and pasting a link to a document is hugely inefficient, and is absolutely needed as Sharepoint URLs are so utterly cumbersome.

This is an easy win to resolve a terrible UX.
