We need the ability to click on a file and have it open in the NATIVE application by default (CAD in AutoCAD, pdf in Acrobat, kmz in Google Earth, psd in Photoshop, etc, etc.) on the client side machine.

This functionality is already integrated into Window Explorer (right-click & associate it to an application).
If we have to download every file to work on them & then upload, we might as well be using GoogleDrive, Dropbox, or another cloud based file sharing program that we are already familiar with.

This is very disappointing that MS still has not addressed this issue.

Not just pdf (which can be previewed on Google Drive & Dropbox with Adobe) - ANY filetype stored on SharePoint/Teams - needs to have the OPTION to OPEN in the native app, if it's installed on the requesting user machine.

    CAD files (.dwg, .dgn .tin)
    Google Earth Files (.kmz .kml)
    Photoshop, etc. etc. etc.

Believe it or not, we don't use MS Office files for every aspect of our job.
