As an example for a construction company it would be very beneficial to have a 'Location' document set which shares its LocationId property. Inside that set there would be multiple 'Asset' document sets which would inherit the previously mentioned LocationId and will share its AssetId column to underlying documents.

Yes we really need to be able to select the default View Style: Tiles, Compact List, List on creation of the view. Please create this option

Indeed, basic file and folder interactions (copying and moving) should be made much easier. I prefer just the basic CTRL+C, CTRL+V operations. Being able to choose 'the current folder' option in the Copy/Move dialogs should also help in the short term and prevent people traversing enormously deep paths.

@Andy, this is not the same as feeding the links from a list. For example using a real list as a source records Most Viewed and Most Recent ticks in the Graph (so you have some smart sorting in the Highlighted Content webpart) while the dumb 'Quick Links' do not, furthermore a list has Quick Edit function to quickly edit properties of all the links very quickly, it has version control and all the List functionality you need for a good solution. Hélas a Links or Promoted Links list has no corresponding webpart in the Modern UI (FEB2019), so the experience is pretty crappy. The Highlighted Content webpart needs an update to let the user choose the field to show in the webpart (in this case the Hyperlink field with Title and URL)

Hiding the quick launch on a modern site also removes the search box... the SharePoint Team is in need of some serious 'managing'...

This is really blocking all our formal process driven sites from adopting the modern UI. We should hear from MS what they are going to do with the Classic Task Lists at least. The only really annoying issue I saw was that clicking a task (in Modern UI) downloads the listitem as a _.000 file.

Providing the ability to scale from renaming individual sites, to all sites within a SharePoint tenant, while ensuring a consistent user experience across M365 is a complex problem. We have been working hard on this long-awaited feature and are currently validating this with a subset of customers in a closed (no longer accepting nominations) Private Preview Program. As we consolidate their feedback, we will provide another update in the next few months.

In modern pages, we open links within SharePoint in the same tab by default, and external links in a new tab. In the text web part, users can specify to open links in a new tab, but that isn’t the default behavior. Similarly, for navigation links, they follow the same rule (within SharePoint, same tab, external to SharePoint in a new tab). This is true of the modern web parts that support linking as well (hero, quick links, images, etc.) This is the pattern we’ve adopted for consistency.

After reviewing other areas of modern sites, like the site pages library, document libraries, lists, site contents, etc. we did find some different opening behaviors which we’ll review and resolve.

Can you help us understand if this pattern isn’t meeting your expectation, if we have some inconsistencies within modern pages we’ve missed, or if it’s the other areas of modern sites where…
