    We should be able to select ANY column on the list content types or ANY list column to display in the HCWP. The current capabilities are extremely limited and aren't ready for us to roll out production solutions yet.

    It's important to have audience targeting enabled *for the web part itself*, not just the content within it. Related post:

    https://sharepoint.uservoice.com/forums/329214-sites-and-collaboration/suggestions/34875403-in-a-modern-page-target-web-parts-so-that-only-de

    We often show/hide whole web parts based on the audience targeting features in Classic. Microsoft has stated it wants to bring most Classic features into Modern to reduce barriers to migration, please make this one of them!

    Enabling audience targeting of the whole web part on the following:

    * Quick Links
    * Text
    * Link
    * Embed
    * Document Library
    * O365 Video

    ...would be very beneficial to our migration path.

    Does the "Working On It" note mean:
    * audience targeting for visibility of the WHOLE web part?
    * respecting audience targeting settings on the individual LIST ITEMS you're pulling, e.g., via a HCWP or Events web part?

    Nuances are important--please be clear on what you're enabling!

    For Classic sites that are coming into Modern via the automatic changes, we need better synergy between the experiences. A *big* part of this is what Tyler mentions above about switching into Classic mode when hitting system pages, and conversely switching to Modern when hitting Library and List pages. It's disjointed and off-putting.

    Just HTML even. I know MS doesn't want to go back to the Script Editor and handle JS parsing, but at least give us some more control over how our content is rendered. The modern web parts are too piecemeal: for instance, why can't I embed a button into a table or link list? Everything is separate, with lots of space in between and no way to create content that other CMSs could handle easily--like tables with embedded images and imagemaps.

    Thanks you for the suggestion. We’ve discussed adding additional column layout options (e.g. 4 columns, the specific example provided by the initial suggester 25/50/25, etc.) If we wanted to keep pages consistent (so there aren’t 50 layouts), but allow additional flexibility, what would be the next three layout choices you’d add? Thanks!

    To respond to MS's response to this, it's not about what layout choices are provided, it's about being able to specify the actual widths of the columns ourselves, e.g.: "10%, 15%, 50%, 25%". Responsive design is important but sometimes these kinds of customizations are necessary, especially given the excessive whitespace in Modern pages.

    Thank you for everyone’s feedback around the use of white space on modern pages. We are continually looking for ways to refine our designs and the use of white space is an important part of this. While the custom control of sections or the custom control of columns is not likely to happen, there could be other optimizations we will be thinking about in the future. Thank you.

    More protocols needed. ftp://, file://, onenote:, App Store and others, limewire://...

    Ok, just kidding about that last one.

    Thank you for submitting this suggestion and voting on it. We have two events/calendar solutions in modern pages today. The events web part has card based event tiles, powered by events lists. You can roll-up events from multiple sites into one page, but there isn’t currently a wall calendar view.

    Alternatively you can select to leverage a group calendar, and pull all of your events (including recurring events) from Exchange. This too is a compact card based view.

    While we understand a wall calendar view is desirable, we’re not working on it at this time.

    That one above is marked Thinking About It. Please clarify which is the real/latest response, thanks!

    See previous comments that are screaming for this functionality.

    I've managed the development of calendar apps. I know they're not easy to make from scratch. But please reconsider--and alongside the suggestions below, please enable dynamic filtering of calendar events by any SharePoint column. For instance, if I select a Managed Metadata column called Category to filter on, the calendar view includes a dropdown menu. When values are selected, it shows only events that match the criteria. This is something we had to hack together with JavaScript and would love an OOTB, stable solution.

    Custom color coding would also be great. And, a more flexible view to show event cards within the Month view so they don't get so squished and unreadable--like expanding a card when hovering over it to show the full summary of the card.

    The calendar needs an overhaul.

    * Native filtering by columns, e.g., via dropdown.
    * A much better way to navigate calendar overlays. Context should be retained when you switch among overlays so that you can go back to the last one you were viewing.
    * A better way of displaying lots of events inside a single day block, without relying so much on the "More" link.
    * Total customization of the data you can place onto an event block: i.e., first and second lines should display whatever columns you want them to.
    * Of course, a robust mobile format that supports the above.

    Wait, this one is Thinking About It, but this one:

    https://sharepoint.uservoice.com/forums/329214-sites-and-collaboration/suggestions/19329577-modern-calendars

    is marked Won't Do? Since this one here was commented on later by MS, is this the latest response and is this being worked on?

    +1

    I'm currently reviewing our classic team sites for how easy they might be to migrate via the MS conversion tool. I'm finding almost every one I look at has a Calendar list. I'm not sure how that'll behave if we run these through the tool but I'll be doing some testing.

    Needless to say this is a popular, recent, and important ask from everyone here so we sure hope you're working on it! Our organization uses SP calendars to coordinate some important rollouts and initiatives.

    YES. The option to open content in a modal would be fantastic pretty much everywhere--a smart modal that can resize and scroll properly based on its content, and where you can enter data in slots. For example, "pass" the content type's columns to the modal to populate its Title as a large block of text at the top, Created/Modified date under that, and Body under that. Give three to five standard modal themes that we can send data to.
