Wait, this one is Thinking About It, but this one:

    https://sharepoint.uservoice.com/forums/329214-sites-and-collaboration/suggestions/19329577-modern-calendars

is marked Won't Do? Since this one here was commented on later by MS, is this the latest response and is this being worked on?

    +1

I'm currently reviewing our classic team sites for how easy they might be to migrate via the MS conversion tool. I'm finding almost every one I look at has a Calendar list. I'm not sure how that'll behave if we run these through the tool but I'll be doing some testing.

Needless to say this is a popular, recent, and important ask from everyone here so we sure hope you're working on it! Our organization uses SP calendars to coordinate some important rollouts and initiatives.

YES. The option to open content in a modal would be fantastic pretty much everywhere--a smart modal that can resize and scroll properly based on its content, and where you can enter data in slots. For example, "pass" the content type's columns to the modal to populate its Title as a large block of text at the top, Created/Modified date under that, and Body under that. Give three to five standard modal themes that we can send data to.

We have image maps in several areas and they come in very handy for just the reason the suggestion gives. Microsoft could by an image map tool, embed it in SharePoint, and allow us to draw clickable areas on a canvas ourselves.

    1. Place ImageMap web part onto a Modern page
    2. Upload image you want
    3. Click a button inside the web part properties to start defining a clickable area
    4. Draw that area with your mouse on the image
    5. Web part saves the area; define URL for it to point to
    6. Set attributes like Open in New Window/Tab (and don't limit to just http:// links; give us FTP, file, mailto:, onenote:, and other protocols!)
    7. Rinse and repeat for as many clickable areas as we want (no small limits please)

This is the kind of feature that would really make Modern usable, friendly, and powerful.

All the comments here are spot on, and other similar suggestions on UserVoice should be folded into this one.

The QuickLinks web part could benefit from:
    * Ability to group links into categories: Put a tree structure of the current links into the Edit panel and allow users to drag and drop links among the categories
    * All common protocols enabled: file:///, http(s)://, mailto:, # anchors, relative links, and also the proprietary app protocols like onenote:. Yes, even ftp://--give us the choice and we'll make sure it's safe to navigate to. Stop requiring "http" in front of everything.
    * A setting to select how to render the links: As a megamenu, an accordion with collapsible groups, etc. The current formats are OK but Microsoft, you seem bent on taking up as much screen real estate as possible with the page and link styles you offer us. Let us slim things down and collapse areas so our users can navigate better.
    * Control over simple colors, underlines, font sizes, styles, etc.

The HCWP should read the columns on the content type and offer them in slots, like CQWP did. Each card can have a limited set of slots in a specific configuration, but let us switch out what value goes into each. Currently HCWP isn't ready for prime time if we were to move our content to it.

Besides changing columns, we need to be able to remove columns as well. I just want to display a list of titles, and HCWP won't let me. It adds Modified and Modified By and I can't remove them.

I've also voted to enable Grouping on the HCWP, which is necessary to rebuild one of our legacy pages in Modern.

    Yes yes yes.

Speaks to governance. We can much more easily enforce governance if we can lock down sections of a page, and only allow a certain kind of web part inside it. That way admins can still edit the page directly, but can't mess with it so badly that they break away from governance and start going their own way.
