Really just need a way to open documents from SharePoint in whatever application we want. This goes beyond PDFs. The way SharePoint Online is now, if it's not docx, xlsx, or pptx, then working with the file is hard. Nobody wants to sit there and Check Out > Download > Upload > Check In especially when they have to review and markup 100 PDF files. Syncing with OneDrive has it's limits and doesn't scale out as the number and size of sites grows. Opening in File Explorer requires opening the site in Internet Explorer which loses other functionality so you can't just put your own SharePoint Online sites in IE mode in Edge without penalty.
All in all, the struggle is real. Everyone hates this limitation and it seems Microsoft is ignoring the complaints. Out of all the suggestions for this feature. I haven't seen a single one where anyone from Microsoft has responded.

Please add this.
People want to use 'Copy Link' more often than not to create convenient links to documents for others rather than set permissions but aren't bothered enough to change link type to avoid setting unique permissions on it. So we end up having to go in, blow away all the unique permissions, and remind our users who then proceed to forget about all this a few days later and the cycle continues.

Quick update on this suggestion. We are still working on this with MS Teams. We don’t have an ETA to share still.

Been waiting since the beginning for this fix. It also has an issue where deleting folders in Teams doesn't delete it in SharePoint. Why should a human have to do the clean up?

I agree. The problem is that the number of sites you may need to move/copy files to can exceed the number of sites listed in the Following section and the recent section. This makes it extremely inconvenient for anyone that has to shuffle files around.
My suggestion is to add a search box so I can just quickly find the site I want to move to.
