I find it rather disturbing that no decent alternative to the discontinued slide library hasn't been offered.
So many organizations wasting so much time in reinventing the wheel over and over because of this sorely missing feature.

We are thinking about a plan for editing the highlighted content display fields, but do not currently have a timeline for this feature

It is possible to make Highlighted Content webpart display filenames instead of title. By editing the title property in the search schema settings and promote "Basic10" property (which for some reason represents filename) to the top.
However, this "fix" has negative side-effects on other webparts (e.g. news webpart not displaying the news headline, but instead something like "news-file-name.aspx"
The possibility to tailor what is being displayed (texts as well as the image) would be really useful

Seriously, only 2 votes after this long. This idea should have been implemented years ago. Using the current filter of any view in a document library would greatly improve the whole experience with metadata.
To me the lack of votes here is merely an indication of this uservoice format being dysfunctional

Could anyone from the SharePoint dev-team explain why this bug is not fixed yet?
