We migrated our company wide image repository from SharePoint on-premise to SharePoint online. For a while the content administrators were happy, but somewhere along the way the EXIF processing has been dropped, which means large amounts of extra work to add the necessary metadata to the pictures by hand.

This should be base functionality and it has worked for years. Why remove such a crucial feature from a picture library?

1.5 Year ago we migrated our central image bank from on-premise SharePoint to SharePoint Online. One of the key features was extracting metadata from uploaded images. And it worked brilliantly.

Deprecating this means storing images in SharePoint isn't that viable anymore. Please bring this feature back!
