I agree. If MSFT can't add some handlers to certain file extensions (like .json and .sql), maybe we could at least inherit the handler from .txt to crawl those?
But we would also like to be able to use a new extension (i.e. ".abcd") and use file handlers to give it a different icon, but have search treat it like a text file, for example.
To answer the UserVoice Admin, I could see removing a file type from search if it's one I recently added.
